T-Mobile Sidekick LX 2009 down to $175

Would-be Sidekick LX 2009 owners have one less reason to keep dragging their feet this week with the dropping of the model's price (in both Carbon and Orchid variants, of course) down to $175 on contract after discounts from the original retail price of $250. We're not sure what's ultimately responsible for the price cut beyond the usual ultra-rapid retail shelf aging process and the gnat-like attention span of consumers like ourselves, but either way, the move helps put the high-end featurephone back in line with some of its contemporaries (we're sorry, but running more than a BlackBerry Tour or an iPhone 3GS on subsidy makes about as much sense as mail-order beef). So, does this tip the scale for anyone out there? Who's taking the plunge?

Sorry about this being off topic but I have a coworker that is looking to buy an unlocked dual sim card phone and I don't want him to get ripped off by some over seas vendor. So my question is this are there any trustworthy sites online to order a phone even if it is a knock off phone. I am leary of hunting for review sites because the site owners could be writing the reviews for the sites they are trying to scam people on. So any help with finding a good online vendor would be great.

It's a price cut because people stopped buying fisher price phones. Were all grown now and what something that doesn't make us look like tools. Sidekicks are kid phones, heck even the kids today don't even want these phones. They want an iPhone or blackberry. The sidekick will always remain a sidekick to the phone industry.

I think the reason for the price cuts are for those who already have their plans with T-Mobile. Because once you upgrade your phone to the LX09 you are tied yet again to another 2 year contract with the company. I do believe that the iphones should not be compared with the sidekick. But if people were to think about their durability i've found that any mobile devices with touch-screen capability a whole lot more sensitive than any other phones.
I do disagree that sidekicks are kid phones and iphones are grown up phones either. They both have different functionality it all just depends on what you are looking in for your mobile phone. Most people find the sidekick a little complicated compared to the smoothness of the iphone when it comes to operating it.
All in all everyone has their own different preferences with their mobile devices. Heck some are still new to the whole gadget and finds all the new generations of phones now a days a whole lot more complicated than what they used to be. A simple phone you use to just dial a number and talk. :)

i was wondering, if i don´t live in usa and i really want to buy this phone, will it be locked like iphone? I have a few friends that bought iphone in usa and they cracked it and can use it here
