A good, hard look at Verizon's WinMo strategy tells you that the company isn't loyal to a single brand when it comes to mobile platforms (and why should it be?), so we can't say we're terribly surprised to see a leaked inventory doc suggesting HTC wants in on Big Red's Android action. All of the Verizon-focused Android talk as of late has focused on Motorola's
Sholes -- but as Android goes, HTC's still the Goliath to Moto's David, so it would make a lot of sense that we're seeing some action out of Taiwan here, especially in light of the fact that we've got the CDMA-flavored
Hero coming up for Sprint. The screenshot leads us to believe that the model will be called "Desire" (now that we hear it, we're surprised Samsung hasn't snapped that up already) with a model number of 6200, sourced through the shadowy industry middlemen over at
PCD. Beyond that, though, your guess is as good as ours.

I just got the myTouch on Aug 5th and I cant wait to trade that for a newer version.....I love the myTouch but I want more power.... come on Magenta.... give us a phone with power... 300MB ram and 600 Mhz processor baby!
I sold my G1 due to the lack of power & undersized screen. this whole Android scene is getting like the netbook market, they all have the same boring spec's. I'm amazed that someone hasn't stepped up & released something that just knocks our socks off. I love the Android OS but I went back to an iPhone just to get some decent cpu speeds & a 3.5" screen. Until the Android phones get more cutting edge, or at least a head of the curve so that sales increase, you'll continue to see less new apps available due to developers leaving from lack of revenue.
Another cool device that I have had a chance to test for VZW is the PCD 3050. This will also be a Android device. In addition, The Toshiba G1 final prototype is sick.
