Samsung Omnia 2 pre-order page now live, tempting you with debt
Here's the good news: the unlocked version of Samsung's I8000 Omnia 2 is now available for pre-order on Amazon, sporting quad-band GSM and HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100. Soaked that in? Great, let's move on to the bad news: it's currently listed for $999.99. Ouch. At least it'll be subsidized when bought through a carrier (hear us, Verizon?). If this is on your must-have list regardless of costs, go ahead and reserve your copy -- no release date listed, so be prepared to endure.

$1000 and no warranty...
Jezz you guys are getting ripped off. I sell the Omnia 2 here in Australia for $845 outright which converts to $703 US. And gaswalla, what do you mean no warranty, the warranty is supplied by the manufacturer so your statement makes no sense!
HSDPA 900 / 1900 / 2100
Remind me which US carriers use those 3G bands?
AT&T uses 1900 in some areas, though they have been switching to 850 all over the place.
Gaswalla, sorry my bad I did see the "No US warranty" in the Amazon ad.
Once I heard about this phone coming to Verizon I got obsessed with it. Reading reviews and hearing so much great things about this phone. At one point I jizzed in my pants( Haha that was gay, sorry I had to say it). They said this phone will have a ARM cortex 8 CPU with an 800MHz processor and yea I know speed doesn't always matter but I think this is the same processor in the iPhone 3GS so I thought wow faster clock speed this thing must zip around pretty quickly especially if its clock in faster than the 3GS. The phone also comes with a 5 mega pixel camera with D1 video recording . This got me really excited cause I take videos of everything and was hoping for a very good video camera. It comes with Windows mobile witch made me pretty unhappy but the reviewers say its covered up my Samsung's ui and touchwiz 2.0. One reviewer said it was one of the fastest wm phones they ever tested so that cheered me up.
Ok now there's video reviews out showing this phone in motion and thats were my interest when away. I first like to say that I absolutely hated the iPhone before and still I kind of do just due to the ui getting a little boring. I'm sorry to compare this phone to iPhone but I honestly think in my opinion the iPhone is the best phone available and ill give my reasons why when I explain the comparison.
So here we go. The main complaint I have with this phone is the lag. How can a company come out with a phone that lags. I mean both when opening applications, especially scrolling and just in general with everything. Come on you have a very fast processor in there with plenty of ram how can it be lagy. Some may blame wm but then again Microsoft why make a software that makes things lag and samsung why put a software in your phone if it lags. The iPhone does not lag at all from switching home pages to running and opening apps. It takes a second for the Omnia 2 to switch home pages. How does the iPhone work so well without lag. No phone has gotten close to the iPhone in scrolling, its just dam smooth. Ok you my argue cause the Omnia has apps running on the home pages. Well even when there was none it still lagged.
Then comes the camera. Hey 5 mega pixes face detection amongst othere camera features he thats awesome. Yea I know megapixels dont matter but he Samsung made the Omnia Hd and that camera is dam good so im pretty sure Samsung wouldnt put a crap lens in the Omnia. Well ok the pictures taken with the Omnia 2 are prettey good im not complaining about that. The video..god wtf went wrong I thought 480p 30FPS ok yes it has that but what terrible video and sound quality. I went through a few forums and I found out its a compression issue cause I saw a sample video with better compression( Idk how the guy did it) and it both sounded and looking amazing. Why Samsung would you put terrible compression on the video. All right your gonna hate my but its the truth. The iPhone 3GS has pretty much the best video camera for a mobile phone( excluding Omnia HD of course). The picture is absolutely beautiful and the sound is the best ive ever heard on a cellphone. Ive seen sample videos on the N95 97 some Sony ericsson phones and with out a doubt the iPhone is the best. I still wish the bumped up the resolution to 720x480 I know they can. I alson know yea yea you dont have much control over the settings. Btw the video camera does suck though.
Im still gonna get this phone haha ive got Verizon so im stuck but I was expecting better. Conclusion People love the iPhone for its simplicity. I love the form factor on the iPhone very seamless and a good amount of buttons. I know people love this to. It really looks expensive( not that it isnt). People love the ui for its simplicity if you want to sms just tap once if you want to go on the internet tap once. Id rather have a more uniqure ui that spells eye candy and is a little more complicated but hey thats me. Everything is integrated with the iPhone witch also helps with its simplicity. So really people love the iPhone cause its expensive, simple and its just a joy. It still needs allot of improvement. The iPhone didn't revolutionise anything and didnt have it first, Its already been done before. If the Omnia 2 didn't have lag, had a better browser and threaded messaging. It would rape the iPhone.
Please be nice to me im terrible with english and really im not an Apple fan be-otch. Macs suck sorry.
Damn dude. I advise you to get ahold of two things...fast: Sleep. A Life.
