HTC Leo caught on video demonstrating its multitouch display

There's been plenty of rumor and speculation regarding the HTC Leo as of late, all serving to pique our interest. If talk of a Snapdragon CPU and an updated TouchFlow 3D UI are not, in fact, greatly exaggerated, it looks like we might have a killer phone on our hands here. And now, to fill in the picture a bit, the kids at PocketPT have helped us to a demonstration of the device's multitouch capabilities. Exciting, no? Make sure you check out the video below, which shows the Leo flipping through photo albums and zooming in / out of stills and video the with style and ease befitting a 1GHz processor. You'll be glad you did.

wow. even if nokia didnt fix their os, imagine how much better it could be with just a damn processor upgrade. that was a really smooth video. its sad to see that everyone else is running phones almost twice as fast than the worlds #1 phone maker.
WANT! If only this was headed state-side on a GSM carrier...
is there any indication or confirmation that it won't? i don't remember seeing much about specs or possible carriers.
I have had multitouch on my G1 for months now but the specs on this phone look great on paper hope it hits the states!
Pretty meh video. We've known Leo was supposed to be capacitive for a while, and seeing the same pinch and grow gestures we've come to know and love (or hate for those of us who prefer one-handed use), isn't that wowwing, aside from the WinMo geek factor. The images are all screen res images that come with the Touch Diamond/Pro devices, and on a non-carrier-provided ROM the transitions are just as smooth.
The problem i have is with the supposed lack of a stylus. i don't like resistive because i'm a diehard resistive fanboy, i like it because of the accuracy it offers, which is great for remote sessions and sketching. If i could get that with capacitive, i'd jump on it. HTC is working on a capacitive stylus, and i would've loved to have seen it released with the Leo, but there doesn't seem to be a silo to hold one on the device. Even with the stylus, there'd be a loss of accuracy due to the capacitive screen. That's not important for most people's day-to-day uses, but for the reasons i mentioned above, it can be critical.
Just because its multi-touch doesn't mean it has to be capacitive, although it probably is.
But with the screen the size it is there won't be such a large loss of accuracy that you see with smaller devices such as the G1, Hero, or iPhone.
Shawn:
Not to mention this phone has 2.5x the resolution of those you mentioned.
This makes me want Windows Mobile. Come on HTC and Microsoft, you can do it! If this thing had android, it would be better but all well. I mean thats what XDA is for right? But, ohhhhh, how i want thee!
Wow. Very cool. I'm still a fan of the devices with keyboards (*cough* Just bought a Touch Pro2 *cough*), but this thing looks awesome. I think it gives us some idea of where WinMo devices will be going with more development.
