Opera Mini hits version 5 in beta form
The great thing about Opera Mini is that it works with a ridiculous number of handsets -- that's probably Opera proudly proclaims it's "the world's most popular Web browser for mobile phones" -- and a major new release has just hit the streets in beta form. Version 5 adds a few key features, including "speed dial" for calling up your favorite bookmarks quickly, improved touchscreen support, an integrated password manager, and most importantly, tabbed browsing. You've gotta be careful with this sort of stuff while it's in beta, of course, but hey -- it's a browser -- what can go wrong? Grab it now (including a customized BlackBerry build) from Opera's site.

This is just freaking awesome on my 5800XM. Built-in keyboard and all.
Yea, this is working on my i8910 very well. The kinetic scrolling could be toned down a bit and formatting in landscape could be tweaked a bit, but it might just be my phone.
Either way, I have a decent browser on my phone now!
WOW! Works perfectly on the Storm numero uno.....I don't have to manually activate the keyboard anymore!!!
The tabbed browsing and picture favorites are awesome too!
Thanks for not sucking Opera!
still no copy.paste!
On 5800XM version there is copy&paste \,,/
What do you mean, the copy/paste feature works for me.The text cannot be copied to clipboard but can be used within Opera Mini.It is a real breakthrough as till now this feature was only availalble in iphone 3GS.And tabbed browsing i something i always wished for.My prayers are answered.

and when you click a link from an email (blackberry) it opens the Opera but doesn't navigate towards the page. ill stick with the older version.
Wow!!! This totally rocks!!
Even a big slap on his big brother, Opera 9.x !!!
Works nice on my E66 - but:
- "do you really really want to exit"-screen sucks
and
- no custom searches? google and wiki only, no more adding own searches to the box? you must be kidding...
Just did a test run on my KU990 Viewty (no-i version):
1. qwerty keyboard yay,
2. runs two times faster than opera mini 4,
3. the app crashed when trying to add my first speed dial and didn't want to run again, had to reinstall,
4. jog-wheel scrolling is gone,
5. as somebody noticed, custom search is gone,
6. you can't insert a line break or an apostrophe using the built-in qwerty,
7. the app can be easily modded to run full 240x400 in landscape using one easy hack discovered yesterday on mygreatphone.com
I guess these issues will be gone in the final release, other than that it's great :)
Very buggy on the BB Curve 8330. Stick to 4.2 for now
I set it up on my Samsung S3310 phone, but doesn't allow me to accept the user terms or scroll down the terms screen to read it in full! tried all the keys on the phone but no help!
