If you needed another reason to frown upon the state of the North American wireless industry, allow us to go ahead and turn your attention to Exhibit A here. What you're looking at is some promotional material backing up earlier rumors that the
HD2 /
Leo is
en route to O2 in the UK, but what's especially upsetting (though not terribly surprising) is the knowledge that customers will be able to scoop up HTC's new ultra-high-end WinMo beast for zilch on an O2 1200 tariff -- a plan that runs something like £45 (about $72) a month. Oh, and that's on an 18-month contract, not 24. Meanwhile, we'll be lucky to ever see the Leo land in its natural, original, HTC-approved state on a carrier at
any price in the US, but hey, at least we've still got some more
Touch Pro2 launches to look forward to, right?
[Thanks, anonymous tipster]
What are the chances this one will work on any US 3G (or better) bands?
I don't want to be the one to disillude my american friends, but I found the TP2 (which has been available here since last june) far inferior in many important aspects to my one year old TouchHD , so I decided to keep it and add to it a N97 (with the latest firmware updates and ROM) to handle work duties .
But as soon as I can grab this Leo I'll have to pension my trusty TouchHD.
Usually HTC phones come to our frigid scandinavian shores a couple of weeks after they reached Britain, and to be perfectly honest I can hardly wait.
I'm jealous
Please come to the US!!! This would be the perfect upgrade from my iPhone. And even if it doesn't come to a carrier here, please support at&t's 3G bands.
I think the HSDPA bands are the same s ATT. The question is, can ATT lock this phone out of it's data network being an "illegal alien" and all.
I am a Palm fanboy since the late 90s and have owned a ton of Palm OS devices. But I want this phone and will gladly take WM6.5 on it. It's wide and tall, but since I use a Jawbone for voice 95% of the time, who cares.
Screaming chipset
Monster screen
Killer videos
Tiny bezel
Thin
Battery life. Hmmmm?
Will it have a voice recorder?
This is my Tungsten T3 with phone that I've dreamed of since 2004.
I may buy this from Europe and run my ATT sim in it. As long as someone else trys it out first. :-D
Well I know what I will be getting next month... can't wait to replace the iPhone :)
As long as it's not on a business only plan, like they did with the Touch Pro2. I really want this device, but I'm a consumer not a business user - so I might have to get it SIM Free :(
okay check this link out....Do I see T-Mobile on there? does that mean the HD2 if it comes to US, it will be on T-Mobile.....Wooooooooow!!!!!
