Finallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
And there was much rejoicing.
yo the g1 and mytouch have glass screens... http://www.drcellphone.com/images/htc/g1screen.jpg
Man, I don't know what to say -- the screens just have some give. Am I crazy? Quite possibly.
Hey guys, REALLY enjoyed the podcast. Actually the first 'cast I've listened to in a long time, and I think I'm hooked. Looking forward to the next one.
A few remarks on i-mate: I think you give them too much credit for the period when HTC was their ODM partner. Every device i-mate ever released was an HTC reference design with a lot of Microsoft input (despite what CEO Jim Morrison would have you believe). Even the now legendary i-mate Jam was merely the HTC Magician, which also appeared on European and Asian operators under various names. Same goes for the i-mate JasJar, aka HTC Universal, my all-time favorite communicator device.
When HTC decided to build their own brand and give i-mate the shove, i-mate showed their true colors: a pathetic brand with poor leadership and even worse product design. Their collaborations with TechFaith Wireless were awful, and their Ultimate line with Arima were not much better. i-mate couldn't execute a successful product launch if its life depended on it... And guess what? -- Its life ultimately depended on it.
To i-mate, I say good riddance. They were a thankless facade for HTC's genius for far too long.
Hello guys still waiting,
Love your podcasts. Loads and loads of info. Well I from Uganda, yes Uganda...East Africa. Yeah well most of our phones here are unlocked. There's like no carrier support so we're stuck with those 500$ plus figure for cool smart phones. No unlimited data plans, few hot spots etc etc kinda sucks but hey it's like summer all year here :).
1. There' this dude friend obsessed with getting an iPhone this christmas. Hasn't gotten one yet since the first email. What's the best ammo I can have to talk him out of it coz I know after holding it for a while and the "wowness" wears off, he'll really not want it anymore. And what alternatives can he look at?
2. I'm like so into Sony Ericsson however I'm split between the idou, the X2, and the newly leaked Leo. I'm seriously into Leo coz of the 1GHz processor and 8mp camera. I imagine it'll run WM7 beautifully, will it? For the kind of dime investment I'll definitely have it for a while and need it to do WM7. Looking at the X2 and Leo sorry Touch HD2, the later rules. but then again the lack of qwerty is a deal breaker. What'd you guys think?
PS: I know, long questions but hey it's the first time.
Thanks
Regard
