Leaked BlackBerry Atlas gives Curve 8900 its CDMA counterpart?

Gemini had its Aries, and now it seems Javeline (a.k.a. the Curve 8900) has found its own CDMA equivalent in the BlackBerry Atlas. (Isn't a shame that RIM's device codenames are so often catchier than their final designation? But we digress.) A new BlackBerry has hit the internet in grainy photograph form, and according to Salomondrin with additional notes from Crackberry, the pictured leak (it's the one on the left) boasts CDMA bands, WiFi, and a 8900 series keyboard. Mum's the word, officially and otherwise, on pretty much any other details, but hopefully RIM won't keep us waiting too long.

Firstly, Sal just leaked that its an EDGE-only (no 3G), GSM (not CDMA) device with a trackpad.

Secondly, It's spelt "Javelin" without the "e" at the end.

honestly whats the point of this crap? The tour is already there. Theres the curve 8530 coming already. where does this even fit. theres supposed to be a new tour with a trackpad coming. by the time either phone is released the tour will probably have a price drop or 2.


more repetitiveness from the worlds laziest manufacturer. I dont know who's worse. apple for 3 identical phones or rim for 10 of the same

That is not an 8900 series (Curve) keyboard; it's a 9xx0 series (Bold/Tour) keyboard. Actually, that phone's width calls the Bold 9000 much more into mind, even more so than the Bold 9700.
