HTC Pure starting to show up in AT&T stores, not for sale just yet
We'll withhold judgment until we have a far more intimate encounter with the device, but at a glance, the HTC Pure -- AT&T's branded, customized version of the Touch Diamond2 -- might carry the least-exciting industrial design of any variant launched thus far. Considering the business-oriented clientele, that might not be a big deal for the phone's bottom line -- but when you take a look at the slightly better-equipped Imagio that's about to launch over on Verizon, we would've liked to have seen something with a little more spunk here. At any rate, it seems Pure units are starting to flow into AT&T retail locations, which inevitably leads to some time in front of the bright lights and camera; AT&T was mentioned as one of Microsoft's global launch partners for Windows Mobile 6.5 on October 6, so if we connect the dots, we're guessing this is the phone that's gonna make it all happen. So where's that Touch Pro2, then, eh?

ick! with all the stunning phones HTC has designed, what AT&T manager was responsible for picking this one? "Hmm, HTC Leo? no. HTC Touch Diamond2? No. Boring toaster shaped slab? Yes, that one"
This is the Touch Diamond 2 in at&t branding
This is a variant of the Diamond 2 that HTC designed. One of the T-Mobile's chose this one, too. The alternative designs of HTC phones haven't been as popular as they used to be, but they are still here.
We added some more pics and info here: http://www.mobilitydigest.com/more-pure-news/
For anyone who has used a Touch HD it's a little smaller. It's a lot nicer in hand than in photos. It's smaller than the iPhone but larger than the screen on the Fuze or the Diamond for perspective.
Oh and the Leo hasn't been released with US 3G bands yet - it's probably a few months off from coming to the US with 3G.
Thanks. Picked one up tonight.

just a heads up, this phone will be $200 out the door with a $100 rebate. so the final cost on the phone is going to be $99.
the pro2 pricing will be $249 after a $50 mir. the G60 is gonna be $249 after a $150 mir.
200 before rebate? Son of a gun, sign me up. How much is it full retail, do you know? Also, it looks pretty good I think, but the curves on top and bottom definitely need to go away real quick.
so i paid 372 for this phone inc shipping and im pissed as of right now they are telling me i cant change the text message tone on it ...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr and i cant give people their own ringtone ...so im going back tomorrow to see if its true or not if its true then im returning it..
