It's not hard to find Nokia users that believe the
E71 is the finest
S60 device (if not the finest device, period) that the company has ever made, so expectations for the
E72 are at a stratospheric high. Impatience for a retail release is
also at a stratospheric high, coincidentally, so Americans will be pleased to see that Amazon now has the unlocked North American version of the "zodium black" phone listed for $469 -- without a release date, unfortunately, so it's still a guessing game as to when these will actually be shipping out. All things considered, it's not a bad price for an unbranded phone of the E72's capabilities, but when you figure
how easy it's been to find awesome deals on North American Nokias around the interwebs this year, it still might give some potential buyers pause -- just imagine if it were $299?

J&R has it slightly cheaper at $439 http://www.jr.com/nokia/pe/NOK_E72/
It's a nice phone, but now, after dozens of OTA updates, fixes and firmwares, new themes and UIs, and 2 new ROMs in 3 months with a new one (which seems to be amazing) due in a couple of weeks, the N97 has finally become the superphone which was not when it was released; and anyone who likes S60 should definitely go for it.
When I first got it , it disappointed me so much that after a couple of weeks of frustration I bought also an iPhone 3Gs, which I immediatly ditched to get my beloved Hero.
But now I must admit that the N97 has become so dam good that I don't know anymore which one deserves to be my primary device; and belive me, to compare with the Hero a smartphone has to be very nearly perfect.
As far as candy-bars go though, this is as good as they come for Nokia.
i just bought an e71 and now they release this.......i want this phone now......................DAMN YOU NOKIA
