Google and Verizon announce partnership, love and new Android handsets to result
We've seen blurry pics and reports from inventory systems, and now the official confirmation. This morning's joint press conference between Verizon and Google has resulted in a holy matrimony of sorts; a melding of the minds; a promise of new hardware to come. Yes, it's just a promise for now as neither company took the chance to confirm the Sholes or any of the other devices that have been popping up. But, Verizon did at least say that the agreement "will come to fruition within the next few weeks as Verizon Wireless introduces Android-based handsets." So, it won't be long now.

Sounds like an invitation to the FCC.
Hopefully vzw makes a better phone than the G1
i thought this was going to happen at 10 am est? they already had it? typical. I'm surprised they didnt also announce that gmail is awesome. No sh#t android is coming to VZ, the news would be WHAT and WHEN.
In the full article they strangely talk of Verizon "developing" phones....
A phone could be thought of as a symbiosis (symtriosis ?) between THREE partners: Hardware (e.g. Motorola's Tao), O/S (Google's Android) and Network (Verizon).
Any two just cannot cut it, unless Verizon and Google get a manufacturer to be a silent partner, so we can have the new "Verizon G2" Google Experience phone ..... and in very small writing "by motorola", or even just the "M" logo ?
I am so sick of f*&^ing Android. I used it, I hated it and now it is getting harder and harder to avoid it. Perhaps MotoBlur can remove some of the stuff I hated from Android.
