GSM Palm Pre to launch on Telcel in Mexico, feature storage expansion?
Well, this is interesting: we'd been under the impression that Telefonica had pretty much wrapped up a global exclusive on the GSM Palm Pre under the O2 and Movistar brands, but here we are, looking at two videos which claim that the Pre will launch in Mexico under rival América Móvil's Telcel label. That's certainly interesting -- and even more intriguingly, we're told that the gentlemen in this video are discussing storage expansion slots on the Pre, which is basically like having a conversation about Santa winning the Super Bowl in terms of Things That Are Real. Did Telcel just manage to pull the rug out from under Movistar and land what could be the best Pre of them all? We're on pins and needles, here. Videos after the break -- and if anyone wants to leave a better translation for us in comments, we're all ears.

!st video: *general banter about car accident before gentleman in long sleeve shirt pops out case with Palm Pre*
Goes on to explain Pre and pops off battery cover with Telcel SIM and then states that it has an expansion slot next to the SIM slot. Looks like the GSM Pre he has is unbranded and states that Telcel will launch the Pre very soon before explaining the origins of the Pre, showing off the sliding keyboard and dances around the resistive/capacitive question not knowing for sure.
Showing off icons and general functionality, shows off 3G and dialer along with additional webOS related functionality.
2nd video:
Hands on with Palm Pre from first video, goes on to explain origins of Pre and announcement, mentions GSM SIM slot and forthcomingTelcel availability, goes on to give observations on keyboard, display, shows off webOS functionality and confirms 3G access. Once again reiterates forthcoming availability on Telcel and goes on to explain webOS before closing out video.
Good job. Just to expand a bit, on the first video he specifies that the expansion port is a MicroSD slot.
Now, he DOES say that, while pointing with his finger at the space right next to the SIM card; however, if you look closely, the phone back (which looks identical to this: http://blogpalmpre.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/palm-pre-gsm-side-by-side.jpg) has silkscreened illustrations on how to remove the battery and the SIM card. These are also numbered (1) and (2). Not only can't I see any slot in that phone, you would think that Palm would have added an illustration on how to add/remove the MicroSD card as well... maybe #(3)?? If anything, for the sake of consistency.
GSM and Micro SD. Awesome. Wonder if the VZW version will have the expansion slot. And Sprint? hmmm. If that keyboard was a little bigger, it would be my perfect phone
