Samsung Pixon 12 phonecamera hybrid gets tested
It's probably best to think of Samsung's Pixon 12 not as a phone with a killer camera, but more so as a good point-and-shoot with phone capabilities tacked on. Our friends at Engadget Chinese managed to get some hands-on with the device, and while they say the voice and SMS portion is nothing to write home about, the form factor and AMOLED screen seems quite nice and the sample pictures come out even nicer. Hit up the read link for some odd, machine-translated text and pretty photography.

OK, Samsung, make me one with Android as the OS and a Snapdragon processor, and I'll buy it. Off contract. For $900. Because I keep waiting for you to make me one of these things with a decent OS, and you don't.
i'm sure that at Samsung headquarters in Seul ar working overtime to manage to accomodate your request.

jeez calm down. i'm workin on it.
Interesting.. certainly,
but in how many peoples life is there a gap - which they will now be overjoyed as it has been filled: by a compact camera, that is capable of the odd text message.
I don't see it.. If you're big on photography and go on a trip with a few others and need to keep in contact with Photo HQ - you'll be using an SLR - and ho hard to stick a phone in your pocket anyway...
I'm all for good cameras on phones - but not to the extreme where we're "Just making a quick call on our camera".
