Microsoft makes a funny with Marketplace 'apps lab'

It's another Microsoft video, another few minutes of hilarious, unintentional pain. This time Microsoft is tackling the topic of apps, riffing on the abundance of gimmick apps for the iPhone. Unfortunately for Microsoft, we'd think the last thing it would want to do is draw comparisons between Apple's App Store and the company's freshly minted Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Great commercial because thousands upon thousands of iphone apps fall under those categories.. M$ needs to really ramp up development tho.. and make sure all of the good apps everyone online uses are in the marketplace so regular consumers can find them..

Im glad to see companies going head up against apple, because they iphone is just as far from the end all say all as anyone else..

I am surprised they didn't use an HTC device in which most Windows Mobile media has that phone in it. In the future the should show devices from other manufactures just so people can be exposed to the hardware that it out there running Windows Mobile.

This commercial also stresses the difference on how Windows comes out with more programs that are useful rather than gimmic programs that are all flash and pretty to amuse and attract the masses. Apple has done a exemplary job at that.

My friend who just bought a Palm Pre was disappointed at Sprint and Palm for not going heads up against Apple and At&t with their ads. Glad to see Verizon and Windows Mobile going for the jugular.
