HTC Desire with Sense UI and Verizon branding spotted
Verizon's on a roll with Android handsets these days, first with the heavily-advertised Motorola Droid and the reclusive / unannounced Calgary, and now with this fleeting glimpse of Android hardware progenitor HTC. Yes, it's got 3G (or the Verizon equivalent of it), Sense UI, a trackball just barely discernible on the bottom, and from what Boy Genius Report is saying no physical keyboard whatsoever -- all virtual. We're definitely sporting a Hero vibe, but really, would it really have too hard to find a decent light source for this shot?

Verizon is on a roll with Android devices!! Still waiting on the HTC Dragon tho. Wish T-Mobile would have a Sense UI Android phone.
Engadget, what kind of leaked photo would this be if the phone was fully visible!?!?
Hecks yeah I was seriously sick of verizon's crappy phones for a while, now it's like the heavens have opened up! lol.
@_illmatic_ : Well I'm sure the HTC Dragon will be an awesome phone, but I really doubt it will be any better than the Droid. The main dealbreakers, imo, is whether or not you like Sense UI and how soon you just want to get an android phone.
They talk about hte snapdragon chip which will have a 1 GHz clock speed which is insane or a mobile phone, but the Droid is also just as powerful.
Lol sorry to go off topic :) nice post and I can't wait for Android to really take-off
Most people look for justification and verification in numbers. They want the biggest number for the smallest price. Quality is thrown out of the whole process.
The snapdragon processor will be slightly faster, but the graphics won't match the chipset in the Droid/iPhone/Pre, and you're right. The difference between the two chipsets isn't going to be large enough to be a deal breaker with most people.
BGR's post about this phone says it's pretty fast, but I'm still gonna say it's using the same pos 528MHz processor that's in Sprint's Hero and most of the other current HTC phones in the market at the moment, and when you compare that to the OMAP 3430 and the Snapdragon... it looks ancient.
The dark pic on the leak would lead me to guess it is an AMOLED display. These look great in dark surroundings but washout in bright light... so the dark atmosphere would be conducive to making that display look so good.
the verizon logo is chopped on there, it would say EV or 1X on a cdma phone.
it's not a photoshop job, all vzw's new phones will show a 3g icon instead of Ev, look at the new storm 2 pics with verizon branding. With as much as the carriers are pushing 3G it makes sense from a marketing stand to have them say 3g.
not anymore check othe new phones it says 3G on right now.... they sart doing this few months ago with BB Tour...
Yeah, it's pretty much the HTC Hero Sprint is running but all black. Should be coming out this quarter
android is going right for winmo's heart. i
