Sony Ericsson looking ready to come clean with Android-powered Rachael on November 3
It could be argued that Sony Ericsson owes the world some love after it built up its last event only to introduce a single, solitary A2DP headset, but we might finally get what's coming to us in just a few days' time. It looks like November 3 is the date SE has chosen to unleash the first volley in its Android strategy on the world, likely the XPERIA X3 (or X10, or whatever the heck they decide to call it) with that wild Rachael UI that we've been tracking for a few months. How do we know? Well, it does line up with the latest and greatest rumors -- but more importantly, digging into the event page's HTML source reveals several mentions of Rachael by name, so... yeah, that's pretty much a lock. Should the unannounced Dragon and Sholes / Droid both be shaking in their boots already?

stupid sony, most of us will have already bought a droid by then.
How can you compare the Rachel to the Droid when one is GSM and the other CDMA?
by gambling the 50/50 probabilities in the face of insufficient research. gsm-only, huh?
According to earlier rumors from engadet and tweakers it should have a 1Ghz snapdragon cpu and a 4" capacitive screen.
If it is true it would be the first SE worth buying in a decade or so (the last was the T28i, o which I still have some fond memories).
Yes the Satio it's got nice harware too but Symbian S60, its clunky UI and the lack of decent apps crippled it chances on the market place while its 12 mpx camera takes nice pics and vids but not better than the 5 mpx jobs on my N97 or my Hero or other 8mpx cams on other phones.
But the specs of this Android experia are very similar to the fabled HTC Dragon , and if SE will also add a good camera (wich they usually do and which traditionally is HTC weak point) they will have a winner in theur hands and I will surely give it a try too.
The difference between HTC's 1Ghz 4" phone and Sony's really comes down to availability. The HTC model is being designed explicitly for Verizon. We'll have to wait and see if X3 / X10 / Rachael gets a U.S. carrier. I'd hope so, but after being burned by an unlocked X1a, my guess is no.
@Plexus:
Rumours say 8,1MP camera....
the twelve M/P camera is not much better than the 8? -Really- ... that's strange. I hate to say it I wish one of these vendors would figure out that some of us want a small clamshell with a good camera, both bluetooth functions and my PIM ( I use Agendus which I love)

not really interested in doing e-mail or texting, just the above features and a phone that actually has some reception (escaping the late great Nextel in Feb.) jccampb
If the PSP "Take a Dump" is any indication of Sony's ability to read the wants and needs of its customers, Droid has nothing to worry about.
I didn't realize this was a GSM phone, ack! I guess I can stop checking the calendar for Nov 3rd! :(
