Sony Ericsson lets XPERIA X10 videos and press shots loose
If you weren't up all night following Engadget (and why wouldn't you be?), the first place you'll want to visit this morning is our extensive hands-on of Sony Ericsson's inaugural foray into Android territory. There you'll find the full XPERIA X10 announcement details and spec sheet, which is highlighted by a 4-inch capacitive display and a deeply customized user interface. With plenty of time to go before that first quarter of 2010 release date, though, we thought we'd get the anticipation revved up a few notches with a selection of handsome images of the device below, and a pair of videos -- one a spit-polished advertising promo, the other a useful demo of Speed Forge 3D -- after the break.

Just have to wait for a looooong time to get this... Maybe turning to Droid... SE, you always do this =.=
Xperia has a bitter history on older models. Hopefully, this X10 release will turned out to be a happy-ending. But still, this phone has a far way to go on competing the iPhone kind or the Killer-Droid

This is something that Apple does well, they don't talk about anything untill they're ready to launch. Talking about a new phone 3 months before it is supposed to be released is a foolish idea.
Hopefully for Xperia this phone is carrier subsidized.
yeah, but will it come with AT&T 3g Bands
I want...
Completely underwhelmed by this phone. From the lack of multitouch to the slow UI and the ludicrous decision to put Android 1.6 on the phone instead of 2.0. Just think, there is already a phone out which has a more up to date OS than this one!
Poor!
I'm torn between the HTC HD2 and waiting for Q1 to get X10. HOWEVER, the X1 was announced in Feb 1008 (?) and took months and months and months to be released. To date, Sony has only released 20 panel apps for this phone (most of which are translation dictionaries made by others for Sony). The X10 looks gorgeous but, on previous form, I doubt any support from SE will be forthcoming. Also, much of the X1 was dated when it came out; what's the deal with Android 1.6? The new Motorola has Android 2.0 and Google are reported to be bringing out Android 2.1 before the end of 2009. The X10 therefore seems to be out of date even before it's been released. Come on SE, blow out socks off with something truly innovative and original - then we'll buy it in droves.
