Palm Pixi one step closer to free, now $25 on Amazon
Start placing your bets folks,'cause it now looks like its almost certainly no longer a question "if" the Palm Pixi will drop to a free-on-contract price, but "when?" The latest stop on the saga is none other than Amazon, which is now offering the webOS-based phone for a mere $24.99 with a service plan, beating Walmart's already bargain price by a full five dollars -- which should be just enough to let you buy a second Pixi next month at the rate things are going.

My company has a corporate account with Sprint and the rep is pushing us on either the Pre or the Pixi for free. So expect it to hit the "freeeeee" catagory very soon.
I'm debating.....
Hecktr- word is that you should avoid the Pixi. Pre is not bad and is at least reasonably snappy in terms of performance. Two years is a long time to regret buying a cheap phone.
It will NOT necessarily be two years since the Pixi (or Pre) should be set up with at least the 450 Everything Plan ($69.99).
After three months at that price plan, that puts the you in Sprint Premier (http://www.sprintenterprise.com/premier/), which has upgrades every _12_ months!
:-)
What's more interesting to me is the price it's reduced from. Wal Mart has the list price before discounts of the Pixi as $549.99. Amazon has it as $299.99. That's getting pretty close to the "reasonable when bought unlocked," price. Hopefully we'll get a GSM version at $250 or $200 if it's getting that low. I'd be up for that.
Contracts start at $90/month. What's up with that?
Looks like they start at $69.99 for 450 Everything Data.
All the Data and Text you can eat WITH Any Mobile, Anytime and 450 regular anytime minutes.
Don’t know about you, but all my friends are on mobiles, so I don’t burn too many anytime minutes anymore…
This is probably not the best place for this question -- but is webOS compatible w/the old PalmOS (even for just a one-time data transfer)? I still use my trusty Handspring Visor, and would love to be able to slap all the synched data (contacts, notes, etc.) from my computer into a Pre or Pixie. Guess it would mean hooking the new device to the PC w/a USB cable and doing the synch (if it even recognizes the old software). Thx for any info.
Uh, we sent in the tip yesterday... Pixi is already free on fap.phonecashback.net.
