The Samsung
i8910 HD (or
Omnia HD, depending on your region and personal preference) has one of the most dazzling AMOLED displays ever offered on a mobile device -- but the phone's understated, muted gray case belies the visual delight that waits just a button press away. The obvious solution? Draw a ring of bright, shiny gold around the display, of course, which is exactly the angle Sammy's run with in the announcement of its i8910 HD Gold Edition today. Available in two colors -- the equally hedonistic Champagne Gold and Luxury Brown -- the phone includes a TV-out cable and cradle in the box, meaning that you're paying for more than just some faux precious metal plating. Other specs remain the same from the original, which makes it easy for Samsung to get this one out quickly; it'll be available this month in "selected markets" including Singapore, Germany, and the Middle East.
Too bad it's going to be just as buggy as the normal one.
fix the Bugs samsung!!
i wish they were capable of making a "gold edition" firmware too
Lol yea gold edition FW would be a good start - the gold looks cheap and nasty¬!!
Does it come with "gold" FW? :-D
This is the gold bug edition! Lol! Sammy wake up!
Bugs in gold!!! Whoo, I'd just love to put down cash for some yummy golden bugs!
Now if this device could just actually do what it promises...Too bad every single so called "HD" video in 720p resolution comes out with at least 3-10 hot pixels in every frame, and that's the frames that it doesn't actually drop. The average frame rate is a joke, somewhere around 19. Can you believe they actually released this to begin with having AMR audio in the 720p videos as well? It took an entire flame war army on samsung's innovator board to get them to make the audio AAC with a higher bitrate. But now they need to deliver and fix the video issue as well, and provide end users with the promised video editing software on the phone itself. The windows mobile omnia 2 comes with video editing software, and itwas promised on the i8910 as well, but it's not there. Please samsung, do not screw over your end users like this.
