We're not saying you should do anything rash and sign up for two lines when you only need one, but we're sure there are plenty of people out there still shopping for a last-minute First Weekend of December gift -- and it looks like Verizon might have just the ticket. The rumor going around right now is that Big Red is going to pony up its
Droid and
Droid Eris for buy-one-get-one-free deals starting this Friday running through the following Monday. If you've already bought one though, don't fret: the rumor goes on to say that customers who've picked up their phones in the last 30 days will also be eligible, which kinda makes sense when you consider that Verizon's got a 30-day return policy anyhow. So, what do you think? Droid for the mister, Droid Eris for the missus? Vice versa?
Sexist pigs :)
@Luke
In all seriousness, this has changed my planned Xmas spending.
Damn it. AT&T contract is up on Tuesday. If only Verizon service was less expensive I would jump at this. I guess I will settle for the Moment on Sprint. The difference in cost is just shy of one grand over a two year contract.
@HotBBQ
Plus it comes with free government surveillance!
@HotBBQ
I agree Verizon is much more expensive but don't forget you are paying for reliability and headache free experience. I recently picked up Sprint, tried it out, it was pretty decent but I decided that Palm Pre doesn't cut it for me. Called them to cancel. A month later bill comes, they charged me for the full month, they apologize adjust the bill and tell me I owe them 1/4 of it. I pay right away. A month later new bill comes, with old balance. It took me 7 calls to fix this.
I think wireless should be easy. You never call them, there are no problems, everything is kosher. Sadly it doesn't exist out there but I'd say closest thing is Verizon.
Surely it's BOGOF, not BOGO?
@Step666 The common retail abbreviation of BOGO implies the freeness.
@tande04: must be an Americanism - no-one here in the UK uses 'BOGO'.
Yeah, its the standard abbreviation used across american retail. where i used to were we also used BOGO ##% meaning buy one get one a certain percent off. usually 50%
Going to do an ETF on one of my lines under the old ETF and then add a line to get this deal.
FYI, it's not buy one get one on the Droid, but buy either Droid or Eris and get a Free Eris. No free Droids, but still not a bad deal.
Nothing terribly newsworthy about a free Droid Eris. That deal's been out there without having to buy a Droid.
