Samsung Corby Speed breaks new ground for odd phone names

We still think "Corby" alone is an odd name for a phone, but Samsung liked it enough to spin it into a whole low-cost series. Today, that series grew another notch with the introduction of the Corby Speed, which sounds more like a comic book hero (or possibly an overrated Olympic slalom skier with GQ good looks) than it does a modest touchscreen handset. It looks a whole lot like some of the other Corbys you may have seen out there, but the key difference here is that we've got Open Mobile-compliant CDMA on board, meaning the phone can be toted among India's CDMA carriers much as you would an unlocked GSM set. It's got a 2 megapixel cam, FM radio, 2.8-inch display, and your choice of three "fashion jackets" -- black, white, and yellow -- and if you're interested, you can nab it for 10,300 rupees (about $223) as long as you're willing to make the trek to South Asia.

I would love to meet the engineering team at samsung who designed touchwizz. I would really like to take some of the drugs that they do...they must be amazing to come out with a piece of shit interface like that.

I love the colors of Corby. It has a design that strongly appeals to young girls. I’ve also heard that WEP490 Bluetooth Headset, which is set with Corby, It differentiates from other bluetooth headset for its design and compact size maybe because it was launched together with Corby.

I love the degin anf colors of Corby too. I bought the Bluetooth Headset wep490 with Samsung Corby. Everyone told me to change it to iPhone but since it’s a touch-phone that is static-aware, you can’t do anything with the gloves on and I can’t stand it when my hands are cold. But since Corby runs based on pressure, it works well even with the gloves on. And on top of that if you talk with wep490 plugged into your ear, you barely have to use your hands. It’s a perfect fit for me!
