Verizon and Motorola say there's been no Droid update after all
Alright, here's a little Jedi mind trick for you: there was no Droid update. We seriously don't have a good idea how so many people could claim their Droids received an over-the-air update followed by a PhoneArena confirmation to the same effect, only to have Motorola and Verizon both insist that it didn't happen -- but yeah, that's where we stand right now. First, Motorola's official MotoMobile Twitter account hit the world with the knowledge, then we followed up directly with Verizon to confirm, and we're being told from all sides that the new Droid firmware is a total fabrication. We guess this means we're headed straight for 2.1 then, right, guys?

why? because google don't approve it
why all android phones can't be updated to 2.1 ? (somebody know ?)
@ango
Read, please. This article is referring to the minor OTA news (rumor?) broken a couple days ago. It has NOTHING TO DO with the 2.1 firmware update.
^because all the companies/corporations are dirty evil thievin bastards and wanna steal our money with new phones/devices coming out every coupla months with the latest firmware/version and charge another $200+ for that -_- and lazyass bum developers like HTC and shit who are too fuckin lazy to fuckin give us 2.0 already or fix their shit and update it
What a let down, I was really looking forward to this!
Here you guys go, 2.1 on the Droid:

lol @ phonearena confirming something. you should have known it was bs right there
So what was that update I got last weekend? It was clearly labeled as a system update. I was already on 2.0.1 then it did an update, rebooted and came back up. After reboot, I checked the firmware again and it was still on 2.0.1 (I was hoping it was the 2.1 update ). Performance felt a little zippier in opening the Menus and unlocking the phone. The other thing I notice was upon the first opening of the Facebook App, I had to accept the User Agreement again. This all REALLY happened, Im not smoking crack and it wasn't a figment of my imagination.
