Nokia 6303i Classic announced, 'guarantees fun for a long time without charging'
If you were waiting for a mild refresh of Nokia's 6303 Classic before taking the plunge on a new handset... well, you're a strange character, but the good news is that your time has come at long last. The 2.2-inch QVGA display and 3.2 megapixel camera are both carried over; otherwise, you've got a micro-USB connector, 3.5mm headphone jack (good for the integrated FM radio), microSD expansion up to 8GB, Nokia Messaging, and up to a respectable 8 hours of talk time. Needless to say, this isn't a high-end piece -- it tops out with tri-band EDGE, but it'll run just €105 ($144) unsubsidized when it hits "select markets" this quarter.

does this mean it is a classic classic? a classic mark 2?
That really looks good for a regular phone. If I were choosing a dumbphone this would definately be it with that 3.2 MP, radio, and expansion. It looks really good honestly.
@SDreamer
That sexy lil phone makes me want to go stupid, dumb dumb. (not reffering to hifee) if you know what that is. lol
But ya baby got back. i would hit. :p
Ok am i doing myself a disservice by not ordering a N900 by now???
Or is there a reasonable benefit from depriving my self of ultimate Maemo greatness?? please help me decide. THese are the factors that have held me back. Maemo 6 device on the horizon, potential ipad purchase(& buying a dumb phone like this one) calling it a day, N900's inevitable price drop. If you have purchasing advice please let me know. i have 700 bucks of gadget money. And who else is more qualified to advise me other than my brilliant Engadget commenter, & staff.
Please share your thoughts thanks. 700 is a lot to lowly biology major like myself. I need to make a informed purchase ya diggg!!!!
This is s40 [v5] right? So no wifi? Hmm.....I'd go for a used e51 for similar price. (that is not to say this wont sell very, Very well!).

@Alexanderton: I was in a similar position. If you can get it from Dell for under 500 then its a great device. Everywhere else in the world its $650+ and due to shortages ppl are charging premiums that make the device slightly less attractive when u know that maemo6 will be out in Nov and Nokia have not said if the n900 is upgradable or not 6 breaks compatibility).
The ipad and the n900 are two very different devices. The n900 is a very powerful, pocketable beast that offers more functionality and without all the Apple restrictions. The caveat is that its missing a lot of features in terms of a "phone" (If ure coming from s60, it would seem like a basic dialer), erratic battery life (depending on usage & service) and lots of tinkering & "geekery".
If you're happy with a tablet as a stationary device and comfortable with the eco-system and all that the device brings with it then go for the ipad :) (but keep in mind Apple track record of crippled first gen devices)
You can get an ipad for $500 + an older nokia with s60 and goodness for under 200 (dell had a recent one day sale of unlocked blue E63 for $180! )
@Munk That was meant to be $750 +
