Verizon's HTC Incredible stocked up and ready to roll?
So HTC's mighty Android-powered Incredible for Verizon is apparently showing up in Verizon's systems as having precisely 156,709 units "On Order," and the individual that posted the shot over in Android Forums says that "On Order" is really code for "they're in the warehouse, and you're not allowed to sell them yet." He goes on to say that they won't be shipping to stores this week, but now that they're in Verizon's hands -- not the manufacturer's -- a retail event can't be far off, we figure. With Sprint having gotten virtually all of the Android spotlight at CTIA this year on account of the EVO 4G, it's Verizon's turn, wouldn't you say?

When this phone drops, Android is going to get a turbo boost as a platform.
Maybe this coming Tues, right after Easter would be cool! Wondering if it will ship with that gross red back or the soft touch black?
@Sean76
I vote one for the soft touch back, not really digging the red.
I give it two more weeks.
It will be shipping with a black back. No red. The phone is going to be all black with that red trim around the camera lens. It looks hot.
@pewpewbangbang
Hey man, I'm Incrediboy over on AF. Good to see you, lol.
@InspectorEngadget hahaha we are all going to meet. Atleast im using the same name on like every forum
@pewpewbangbang
I agree that all Black with the Red trim is really hottt! I'm in if that's the color scheme..
@Sean76 It's the color scheme =) The back may be interchangeable also, so you can have diff colors. Photos are leaked on androidforums if you wanna check it out.

I hope this phone comes out soon, i want to add another line to my family plan using that phone.
Do I want this or the N1? I love the red, though. And I'm a big fan of Sense... help!
@zeroleonheart The specs of this phone will be better than the Nexus One.
The Nexus One will probably get Android updates faster though since it is "Google's" phone and runs stock Android. This has Sense UI which makes android a lot nicer and better, but it's your call. I am personally tired of waiting on Verizon and am getting whichever one comes out first. I may still wait out for the HTC Incredible though, it's a crazy device.
@zeroleonheart
Go for the Incredible! I just sent the Nexus one back to Google... Mine was with the AT&T 3G! Terrible, ear piece was the lowest I've ever heard on a phone, and the whole package just felt undercooked! Plus sense is awesome, and just adds to the whole Android OS. Maybe the VZW flavor will be better then the GSM versions, but I'm not into trackballs or moving parts after the whole Blackberry fiasco with trackballs breaking!
@Sean76 @pewpewbangbang
Thanks you guys (gals?). I'll probably go with the Incredible, as it is quite the crazy device, underclocked and all. I currently have the Eris, and have fallen in love with the Sense UI.
So, Incredible it is!! Thanks!
My BB Storm is dying....hurry! Wait..it's been dying ever since I got it.
I want this phone next I think. The Droid is nice and all but honestly I'm ready to move back to a non-physical keyboard (and SenseUI).
@phobic99 good choice. DROID is somewhat slow, well not really slow. But slower than these new handsets coming out. Plus it only has 256mb of RAM making it pretty bad for multi-tasking which is what Android is all about =)
The Nexus One and HTC Incredible will have 512mb of RAM, the Incredible is rumored to have 1GB of RAM!!! but it's only a rumor still and i somewhat doubt it.
cant fv%^ng wait!! def gettin rid of the droid for this. already got a buyer for my droid.
Wat the hell HTC can you give At&t some android devices like the desire or the legend! Ignore apple because lots of subscribers are waiting for a good android device on At&t
@BayAreaPen AT&T would just gimp it anyway...
@BayAreaPen
Perhaps HTC isn't content to watch its fine devices get wasted on a crappy carrier, unlike Apple.
@steel
AT&T is the largest gsm carrier and 2nd in the US. So it's better than T-mobile and yet T-mobile has the Nexus One and the HTC HD2. big deal they changed the search engine to yahoo. It doesn't mean that they would do the to hTC devices.
@BayAreaPen It's more than just changing the search engine. They pre-load the devices with tons of AT&T crapware that CANNOT be removed. Look what they did to the Dell Aero (aka Mini-3). It is nothing more than a glorified feature phone. It doesn't even have the Android market! This is why you will never see any smartphone worth a damned sold by AT&T directly. EVER.
@Darkseider
wow i didn't know that At&t messed up the Dell mini 3. WTF really no android store on an android phone.
Dam I wish I could switch but I'm in a family plan.
def ready for this. feel the same way about the keyboard. ill get one i little bit after it comes out. everytime i get a phone when it first comes out i end up getting one thats defective.
What in the H~LL is the hold up with the Verizon Nexus One???????
me and my wife are getting a pair of these on release day!
I bet your happy to hear this. Bet K is is also.
Can't wait. I'm still on WM 6.1 :(
Bigger question: how long has it been in "on order" status? I know the photo was taken march 31, but is it possible it's been like that for 2-3 weeks but it wasn't noticed until now?
Just want to know if I need to wait 2 weeks or 4 weeks. :)
@Biotite No, it's only been like this since yesterday. He seems to be the only one so far, other sources who have tried to check have not gotten the updated version yet. Says last updated was March 29th, this is the new March 31st one.
just give me a date.
