Amazon selling every AT&T phone for a penny on contract
Amazon just hit us up with the knowledge that it's blowing out each and every AT&T-branded handset in its inventory for a single penny on contract, pretty impressive when you consider that you'll be paying as much as $200 for the same phones if you go through AT&T directly (and paying sales tax in the process). Of course, the iPhone is prominently missing from Amazon's inventory here, but let's be honest: if you haven't bought a 3GS at this point, you're probably planning on holding out for whatever Apple's bringing to the table this Summer anyhow. The deal's only good through April 16, so if you're planning on taking advantage, you'd better get moving.

It would be cooler if it were t-mobile..they have wayyyy better phones than AT&T
@Cokemanpac
If people cared about this att post at all, you would be downranked. But I do hate how tmobile seems to sell all their phones expensive:( Went to get an hd2 at radioshack with upgrade and they were asking $250. WTF
@deliteguy Lol you think I care about being downtanked... Look at both companies phone offerings, besides the iPhone what does atat have. Especially when you factor in how they cripple android, compared to tmobiles openess to android.
And i'm in no way a tmobile fan I left them for sprint and I'm very happy where I'm at with my hero
@Cokemanpac
I agree Coke, other than the iphone everything at AT&T sucks.
Do i still use them? Ya, but i stick to unlocked phones.
I don't think ATT realizes what they have done with their crappy phone selection. It's at a point with ATT that either you have an iphone, unlocked phone or a completely different carrier.
Tmobile sucks by me, 3g is sketchy and in some areas it's a complete blackout (central nj), but if their coverage was better, i'd for sure be on their network using an n900.
@jcar302
They have 3g down here in Ocean County, but was having a cigar in Harrahs, and my Nexus One on AT&T had 3g, the person who I was with on his G1 was stuck on Edge. TMO is a good choice for those who it fits into, I won't dis them. But with my corporate discount AT&T is a little cheaper for me.
I hope they're just trying to clear stock for new Android phones or something... Because this isn't very noteworthy otherwise unless you're a big Blackberry fan or something. Most of AT&T's other phones are crap, it's not that they have a poor selection right now, it's that they have almost nothing to choose from beyond the iPhone!
Aw, no Backflip??????????? Why not??
Anyone know where's the cheapest store or online store to get a Backflip? (I know Droids are now available for $19.99, is there a similar deal for Backflips?)
Oh hey the Backflip IS THERE!!!! $0.01!!!
amazon . com /Motorola-BACKFLIP-Android-Phone-AT/dp/B003A4HWYU
(Sorry it won't take the URL)
@Chris Ziegler: You should update the picture or add an addition article. I know there are plenty of AT&T users who would love a $0.01 Android phone!
Verizon phones too! Including the Eris. Check it out!
Not bad if you're looking for a touchscreen phone. You can even get the same deal for upgrading to certain devices (including the Backflip).
I could care less for AT&T Crappy phones. I'm still waiting for that perfect ANDROID phone.
@Inspector Gadget80
HTC EVO?
@Inspector Gadget80 Nexus One
i always go to amazon first when i buy a phone. best deals around, and you can trust them more than these random "phonz4u4less.com" or whatever.
I want good android phones on AT&T :/
@ssgadget Aint gonna happen... trust me.
They'll probably get good phones, but they'll restrict the hell out of it.
@ssgadget Give it time. They've got Samsung's Galaxy S coming soon.
Problem also, if you have a good legacy plan, Amazon will make you change it to a more expensive plan. Many times its cheaper to pay a little more for the phone and be ahead in the long run. Basically its rebranded LetsTalk.com or similar company. Really not a bad idea if you're starting new.
Well, I guess since the phones are provider-locked, this is only fair.
anyone know if this works with current customers that aren't on a contract? mine expired last december, sure would be nice to renew and get a phone for 0.01
Not really, Iphone is not in the list.
Bias: "…if you haven't bought a 3GS at this point, you're probably planning on holding out for whatever Apple's bringing to the table this Summer anyhow."
Non-Bias: "…if you haven't bought a 3GS at this point, you're probably planning on holding out for whatever Apple or Windows Phone is bringing to the table this summer or next fall or winter anyhow."
@Blue On Blue Incorrect. Re-read the sentence from the beginning.
@Chris Ziegler
Gotcha! However, I thought it would probably be fair since the last couple of sentences really sticks out more (more directing) than the rest of the story line — as one who have been in marketing and sales for a decade or two. Thanks for responding. :-)
