Samsung's TV Remote app makes HDTVs do as your iPhone / iPad commands
No, it won't serve as a replacement for that sweet touchscreen remote Samsung showed off at CES and is shipping with its priciest 2010 HDTVs, but the company's new iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad app will let those devices stand in for standard remote functions. Of course, that's no big deal if physical buttons are more your thing, but it also enables gesture control and game controller functions for Samsung Apps, so if you have the hardware, there's really no reason not to bridge the gap with this free download. It would be nice if they released a firmware update for some of their other TVs. I have a LN52A650 that I wouldn't mind be able to control via my iPod Touch.
Even this is more exciting than the Kin. And I don't even own an iPhone.
They will do something similar with their superphones, I'd like to see what kind of functionality and extras they build into the Galaxy S' remotes.
I don't have the right TV or an iPad, but I think they should make an iPad specific version, too.
wow the user interface and design is really lookin awesome......
