Verizon down in Southern California? (update: Ohio, too?)

"Preparation is key to building the most reliable network," says Verizon's last tweet, but we hear the company wasn't prepared in Southern California -- reports are trickling in about a multi-county voice outage. Since that new Droid's not so Incredible when it can't make calls, here's hoping Verizon fixes the issue soon. We'd hate to have to call out a different carrier's name the next time someone botches a phone demo. Update: Several Verizon customers in Ohio are complaining, too, but we also hear that So. Cal's outage might possibly / temporarily be over.

Works fine here in Los Angeles.
Orange County here... My voice service works just fine, but I've got no data at all on my Incredible. Been out since around 5:30pm.
I called Tech Support at about 7:30 and they said that some switches were out across parts of So Cal.
Voice is down in Manhattan Beach, CA. Been down for approx 2 hours also not getting emails on my BB tour. Thats ok, switching to Sprint and getting HTC EVO on Saturday.

Good luck dealing with sprint. I had them for 5 year and never new how bad it was. I finally got mad and switched. Verizon is light years above them in every service. I guess you might want to switch for a year until Verizon gets real 4G...
Yes I hate sprint and I'm not hiding it. When you have to replace the same phone 8 times and they won't give you a new model... that is just bs..

Well I wanted to be able to make calls and still get good cs, that is why I went with verizon. I like 3G when I am on the road.
@cobjones that's some shit. I love sprint. N wldnt change them for a carieer. I had every other major career. Except for big red. N wldnt tell anyone else abt another career except for sprint. There the shyt. Unlimited everything for 69.99 except calls to lan lines. N new phne upgrade every 12 months. Dam. I cnt find anyone that beats that. But srry to hear about ur bad history with them. If you ever get tired of paying primium serv. For regular service you shld give them a try agien. There nt the same sprint of a yr n half ago

On Verizon I had a voyager that I had switch a few times a month after the first year and I always asked them for a new one but they gave the bullshit answer of certified works like new but I went through 17 phones before I got a working one but they never gave me a new one or even a small gift card for the trouble and I got te working phone 1 month before my contract was up an I switched to a Droid on the same network and its worked perfectly so sometimes its just the phone

haha see AT&T has no problems lol but if AT&T were having problems everyone would jump on that with a bunch of B.S.
Im having a hard time sending text to people on Verizon right now. Im near Toledo Ohio.
Cleveland area in Ohio here. Calls and texts are down. They were down earlier, came back at 10 or so, and then went down again. They came back around 12:30, but went down less than half an hour later.
Not a fan.
I'm in the Cleveland, Ohio area and since around 9:00 pm it's been out at least 3 times so far. It's now 2:30 am and it just came back online. It shows that you have signal but you can't send nor receive texts or calls. Bullll.
Cleveland Ohio here. The network seems to have gone down around 9:00. I received a barrage of texts around 10. The network went back down around 30 minutes later, and then came back on around 12:30. The network was up for about half an hour (maybe more) before going down again.
Not a fan.
So funny, when something bad with AT&T happens everyone is on it but god forbidden something is wrong with Verizon everyone shuts up??

Maybe Verizon just tends to have smaller outages? I think we can all agree that ATT is mostly just a big bag of fail most of the time.
I'm in Ohio. No issues.
Data/3G was off from about 5:30pm-8:30pm... Orange County
No issues in Columbus overnight.
Not surprised by the outage in Cleveland; there's a reason for the nickname, "Mistake by the lake".
Its not working in metro Detroit data or voice but I'm posting this from my Droid on my home widow from at&t

Maybe it's because of the sun that is supposed to be more active now and in the coming years that will mess up communications and the Internet etc.? We are living in the end of the end times
L.A. + Moto Droid combo working well.
My voice was down almost all day this past Wednesday. My friends was down two days before that. We both live in the coachella valley although on opposite ends. Both of us have Moto Droid. 3g and wifi were down last night. All good today tho:)
