American Eagle invites shoppers to take off their pants, get a free smartphone
From July 21 through August 3, all you need to do is slip on a pair of jeans at an American Eagle store and they'll toss you a new smartphone for free on contract. Heck, you don't even need to buy them -- just try them on, and you're good to go. Of course, the stunt isn't that amazing when you consider that carriers often offer huge bounties to independent resellers that can win new subscribers, but we'll still be interested to see exactly what carriers and models are offered (BlackBerry and Android options are being promised). And no, your butt looks fine in those. Seriously.

WHOA!
all I need to do is take my pants off?!
Easy as 123.
I'll buy a crappy pair of jeans if it can get me a Droid X for free
Now that I think about it, you don't need to give me a free smartphone to get me to take my pants off...
@Addyct
I concur.
I'm not wearing pants right now. Can I still get a free phone? :)
This is crazy. But let's read the fine print. What kind of smartphone?
just go here and click choose your phone now

yea what kind exactly? I want an EVO Hell if get one ill go take my boxers off.....
@Tech Dude well there's free blackberries from sprint
Blackberries? Slow Browser? BAD UI? Horrible Apps? I'd rather not.
way to not give me any good sprint options. moment is soon to be replaced, and the hero is too. 10 bucks of the EVO? Nah, I'd rather wait for the Epic. If this didn't involve having an account, I would just pick up an Aria and use it for entertainment purposes but i won't waste it in that manner
Just walked into an american eagle sans pants. Needless to say I was promptly escorted away and should have probably read the whole article
I like American Eagle, and just bought a pair of their shorts, even though I'm more of an Express guy myself.
Still, this promotion assumes that you're either a fan of BlackBerries, or an AT&T or Verizon - using Android fan. If so, this promotion is for you... as mentioned, many of RIM's finest are there. As are the HTC Aria and LG Ally, for that matter, both decent Android phones. But if you use "The Now Network", or an AT&T customer expecting a free iPhone 4 (or even a 3GS) from this promotion, you might as well keep your "out-of-fashion" RAZR for a bit longer. Just my 2 cents.
P.S.: I noticed that Simplexity is handling this promotion for American Eagle. Anyone had experiences with them?
Kinda trying to figure out the connection between pantslessness and smartphones, but I'm sure some people would love it... and for a free Android that ain't too shabby.
