We know that Palm plans on having
webOS 2.0 out of the door this year -- and that it's "aggressively" cranking on its hardware roadmap -- so they've got to be in the later stages of testing at this point if they hope for any retail launches in time for the holidays, right? On that note, the developer responsible for the webOS flavor of Foursquare has noticed both webOS 2.0 entries and references to a new, previously unheard-of device codename "Roadrunner" in his app's logs on webOSroundup's Metrix analytics service; it can all be faked with enough effort, of course, but it would make a lot of sense for Palm's peeps to be testing new hardware and software with some of the more popular apps in the Catalog. For now, we're categorizing this one in the "totally plausible" category until we hear differently -- question is, what form is this Roadrunner gonna take?
It's bout time 4them
Horizontal Slide Out Qwerty.
3.5+ in. Screen.
Were All Waiting..
@AtlantaBoiPalmPrePS3 At this point it's gotta be at least four inches with landscape slider, the pre2, if they make it should be 3.5 with portrait slider. The pixi two should be 3'', but more importantly not crippled with a crappy processor.
@IVER23
I agree. This is why I said, 3.5+.
Meaning AT LEAST, 3.5 inches.
If Palm goes with a 4in size they will likely have to abandon their round form factor and go with a more square design, similar to that of the EVO or Droid X.
Front-Facing Camera would be nice too
Yippee!!!
All touch candybar phone sporting a 4" screen with 1280x720 resolution running a TI OMAP Chipset /w 1GHz Processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage with expandable microsd flash memory of up to 32GB. All topped by webOS 2.0
One can only dream right?
I hope its a Wimax powered, large screened beast with front & rear cameras.
@Genjinaro you mean 3.5G? nah man lte's faster
Next "the Coyote" but it'll be underachieving
Hey guys, could you be kind enough to link to webosroundup.com in your article since it was via their Metrix stats tool that I made this discovery?
Roadrunner: Fast. Also, elusive?
From what I've heard from a former Palm exec, it's supposed to be an update to the Pre but with a glass screen instead of plastic and a 1Ghz processor. We shall see, I'm intrigued to see what new hardware they'll have.
sliderocket21 I hope ur wrong I want a 4" all touch 1.5ghz, high res, beast of a phone no slider please. I mean they need a few form factors a landscap slider vertical slider, black barry formfactor and all touch screen fromfactor and las but not lease a tablet
@supermanh Yeah, the Pre is done with. He even said there were supposed to be different colors. I think he made mention of an all touch phone and or another Pixi like device. Just up those specs and use glass please Palm, no more plastic. I'll ask him next time I see him, although now the new info may not be as easy to come by of course.
The Pixi keyboard rocks. They need to keep that.. bump the specs, and increase the screen size a bit. I would wait in line for that.
@darkthunder
I agree the keyboard is on point and would bump the resolution and screen quality. Well nice camera would seal the deal.
I wonder if it'll have the ability to print to any HP network printer over WiFi (or possibly Bluetooth, for any HP printer that has that). It seems like HP, with their large base of enterprise customers, would try to leverage that along with their dominant printer business...
Hopefully they haven't had any hand in the software itself, given their bloated, fat printer software for PCs.
hp palm needs to come out swingin
