i have to agree: i've never understood the entire cocktail theme. the logo itself is hideous, and more than a little girly.

if you already have an os, there isn't much point: the big idea is that this is an open, web-based platfrom. you can run chrome os software on any platform in any browser. and as loocas intimates, it's a pain in the ass to put 3 partitions on a macbook: bootcamp expects two partitions, no more.

say what you want, but linux has long had 2 serious problems, in fact: name recognition, and ease of use. even your grandparents already know what google is, and they won't have to know a thing about kernels or distros to make it "just work." they might even have the clout to solve the driver drought that drove me away from linux after like 2 days.

sure, you can adapt to a new keyboard-- but it's the going back and forth from my machine to EVERYBODY ELSE'S that drives me nuts. we have standardization for a reason.

I'm glad Lenovo finally figured this out, but somebody forget to tell Steve Jobs. Although, he probably did it just to be "different" (ie, difficult).

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
