Point taken, but from my line-waiting experience in Chicago on launch day, they were merely handing out bottled water and answering questions.

Anyone standing in line is already sold on the product.
People who are already waiting in line don't need to be "sold" on the product...it would be a waste of Orange's money and man-hours to hype things up.

Smarter idea would've been to give some employees pre-release models and have them go to malls or busy areas.
Nevermind the amazingly-obvious short wheelbase of the Fiero...easiest way to spot a fake exotic.
I think this actually looks better than the Centro -- the squared-off styling is a bit nicer than the awkwardly round edges.
Add a "status light" so I can see if there's a missed call, VM, SMS, e-mail, etc. without having to turn on the screen. BlackBerrys, Nokias, etc. all use this.
Ways to make it more theft-resistant:

1. Use special security bolts & nuts
2. Use thread-locker
3. Reinforce exhaust tubing right around inlet/outlet
4. Move it further up into the engine bay where possible
My white one developed a crack right at the power/sleep button. I took it back to the Apple store and they gave me a new one. Problem solved.

I dunno why this is happening given that every cell phone on the market these days is plastic...
Bleh, 300 cd/m^2 brightness? DO NOT WANT.

For just a little bit more, you can go for a Samsung 245BW and get 400 cd/m^2 with a really nice dynamic contrast ratio. And it's height adjustable. (no HDMI, but that's easily fixed with a DVI-->HDMI converter)
I too have never understood why firmware/BIOS updates to devices are not reversible. Can anyone with a dev background shed some light?
Samsung 245BW. Incredible brightness and a great dynamic contrast system, with extremely vivid colors. Puts the 24" Acer and BenQ to shame. It's also aesthetically pleasing with the glossy bezel....oh, and you get height adjustment, which is hard to find these days.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
