My family lives in Panama (and I did for 3 years). The GX is in fact a Land Cruiser Prado (called simly Land Cruiser in Europe), or a Land Cruiser 120 series. Most of the sheetmetal is the same (think of an Avalanche and an Escalade EXT). Regardless of the name, the LCP is a very capable vehicle that will do both as a comfortable vehicle and a good offroader from factory.

And yes, the Land Cruiser down there goes from the barebones 70 series (the squared ones), to the 120 and the $80,000ish LC200. And you can get a $40-50000 LC120 with 7 leather seats, adjustable ride height, sunroof and a bunch of extras AND locking differentials, which is a dream in many American SUVs.

So yes, Wards is partially correct.

Think of the GX and the LC120 as a Tahoe and an Escalade, but in this case, the GX can actually do some serious offroad.

I'm probably passing on this one, since the design seems to be nothing but the E2/SCL2, which I didn't really like due to the design, cable stiffness and they're too big, so you can't swap the sleeves with those black foam ones.

Nice one. I hope it's less crippled in features than the i855 (ie. BT). My only complaint with Boost handsets is that they replace the nice Nextel PTT button for a cheap silvery one.

I'd be interesting to find the price out, since the i855 is selling for $60 (Walmart & Bestbuy have it for $50), but when the higher end handsets like the i875 and i885 came they were retailing for like $350 or so.

Inline 4 3.0L engines are mounted on a lot of vehicles, including the Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Fortuner, Land Cruiser 120, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Frontier/Navara, etc. And they're very fuel efficient. On a Land Cruiser 120, a tank filled with about $50 lasts up to 600km on a highway.
