Engadget has a habit of doing that... they once reported that Nokia and Intel where making a new mobile OS called oFono... had they read the release correctly they would have seen that it wasn't at all an OS but a bunch of components for building telephony apps on linux
sorry if this is also off topic but those kids are SOOO CUTE !!
I hope somebody sues them - this is a completely violation of property rights... why do companies think they have the right to go back on any contract or agreement they have with a consumer at anytime?

fuck amazon
I REALLY doubt this will happen - possible they are experimenting with the software but nothing else - seriously Symbian foundation hasn't even put out it's first release yet s60 and al versions of symbian out now were developed PRE symbian foundation... they already said this month they are dumping s60 anyway for a new stack to run on symbian kernal and it won't be out till next year... only then will anyone know if symbian foundation is a failure or not...

and if nokia is dumping all their other os's then why all the recent major developments with intel and maemo?
It's not a new OS... It's an application / API for writing extensions to the application...

It will be compatible with "multiple linux distributions"

This needs to be changed
Does anyone know how much it costs and if its a monthly charge or what? are you paying for software or a service? Will it be free on new handsets that already have the new software installed?
What's wrong with being gay? Are we really still this concerned over who likes who in this day and age? Cause if it's such a big deal then you need to get a life and find something else to worry about ;)
When the hell is nokia going to announce something.... Is there a reason that they came to CES to just sit on their asses and not give us anything new? Does anyone know if they're going to do a press conference or anything of the like?
I agree that asking for a donation is bizzar... it's NOT because they're willing to negotiate though LOL- they just dont have a case
LOL... i got that,,, clever
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
