Not another new Mobile OS!. Android 2.0 is the new "star" child looking like it could kick the iPhone in due time. WebOS is a strong under-dog disadvantaged by Palm which is a small player compared to the rest. LiMO needs to come of age to displace WinMO (sorry WinMo fans but WM7 could save it but I do not think the market can wait that long...)

Symbian is dead dead deader ... or ditched to "second-class" status on low-end handsets. SO Sammy, why not buy Palm and give us many variants of GSM/HSPA Pixies at lower prices and put back wifi there. This could just send the Nokia handsets (mid-to-lower end models) to their early graves!. So that's revenue potential enough.

SO guys, if SamSung rides on Android 2 and WebOS, it could be a serious market leader. But they got to buy Palm or somehow license WebOS. Make sense ?. I think so.
Yeah, Apple will settle for close to a billion on this one. If they fight, it will delay things and will LOSE bit time for several billion dollars. The thousands of GSM and UMTS patents that Nokia has is no joke. Next is Ericsson who has even MORE patents on GSM/UMTS/HSPA. So it is in effect a double-wammy for Apple. Such is the price of admission to the Telecoms world,so welcome Apple, pay upon admission or else gets sued and pay later for a much larger amount. Fight and pay huge amount (which you can afford) but the patent holders are not "spring chicken" as you already know.

Except Mr Ivys is a British version of his Jobsness, oozing with that British accent. Yet trying to convey sweet nothings about the design.
Come on: Jonny. Give us "push pop-out" drawer type design for the RAM slots, for the HDD and for the DVDrom. It is the sort of practical design values users will really appreciate.
Partical beam defense system. SIlent non-letal pulse kills their engine first. Second pulse fry their internals with microwave frequency. Yeah, food for seabirds and later sharks. Thats what sea pirates deserve.

These people board to steal and kill. So any klingon captain will do the right thing.
Obama should do the right thing. Give him a simple trial, find him guilty and deport the guy back to the UK.

Just look what they did to Kevin Milnick. Holding him for 4 years without trial, that is just wrong and absolute abuse of power for the ignorant people who thinks they are doing the country a service. There are serious bad guys to catch and they pissed around with useless cases ....
I am going to bet that the CPU for the iTablet is not going to be Intel!. It will either be that special PA Semi variant of PPC DualCore super-power efficient (yeah, the stuff that controls missiles for the military), or the ARM A9 Cortex (dual core).
A superthin 120GB toshiba 1.8 inch SATA disk (no SSDs will be too expensive on this thing although it would be a great hack).

It will run Mac OSX lite. This OS is half way between iPhone OSX and Intel Max OSX. Why ?. They can "re-use" the framework done on iPhone and re-use the kernel technology used in 10.5.x. Keeping everything 1 version behind is not bad yet will maintain a lot of compatibility. It will be 100% iPhone apps compatible and potentially 95% Mac compatibility. That will bring it into its own ecosystem and enable a great bridging/companion device. NO 3G or EVO card on it. Just 802.11n wifi will do.
Looks slick and runs rather fluidly. This device is what the Apple fans has been waiting almost 2 years for, and at any rate will not see it EVER!.

Thanks Steve for saying a multibillion dollar company cannot do this, while other small companies are moving product lines with way greater number of model diversity for years. Archos being one of them.
If your battery has less than 300 cycles and its health is < 50%, you can claim warranty, especially if it is less than 12 months old. Especially for MBP owners they should replace with new one for free. If not complain like hell.

100 cycles and < 50% health is totally unacceptable!.
The 2.13Ghz AIR with its 128GB SSD looks like the only improvement in this round up!.

For the 13-inch PRO, no expressCard is going to cause another round (or rounds) of debate, mostly megative in nature.

It is so typical of Apple to "Take AWAY" something while it gives very little. ExpressCard even in its small form-factor incarnation is miles better than SD card reader. So I wonder if the 13 incher PRO will be lumbered with those MacBook crap screens then ?!.

Time to order than 2.13 AIR SSD then ....
It is classic Apple to block all other potential inter-operability by others in their devices or software. Some group (the EFF ?) *must* lobby for anti-trust action, if Apple attempts to do this. ie This limits rights to the consumer in using their own devices, hence, it is anti-competitive!.

Apple play fair (you have FairPlay technology which is anything but fair, but I digress) and innovate.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
