Are you guys kidding?..This is Godsent. Free iPhone WiFi phone calls to anywhere in the US (it's like T-Mobile's @Home service except you cannot continue to talk when out of WiFi range). WiFi roaming while abroad for free calls to the US.. Pay as you go international plan where you pay for what you use without the carrier fixed $4.00 or $5.00 rates per month and for a lot less than half.. per minute rates to landlines abroad! Better than Skype.. and I have both. They also announced that they will be incorporating this to existing Vonage landline accounts before the holidays.. what more could you want.
@OG_Phenix: "If Microsoft, Sony, Dell, Toshiba or any other OS/hardware provider tried dictating what could and could not be used on a computer, everyone would be up in arms-- and rightfully so."

OK.. you kinda lost yourself there with the defs. A computer.. ie. "PC" is virtually the same machine throughout... there is no PC competitor.. what makes the machine different is its OS.. An iPhone on the other hand.... has hundreds of other devices that it is competing against so people DO have other choices/options.. NOT THE SAME... get my drift?
Although I had this msg appear while on Beta 5 numerous times.. it does not appear anymore on the final developer version...
Pending any hardware disasters and stock limitations in the next couple of weeks, I expect Palm to sell triple that by next weekend and a lot more in the weeks and months ahead. I have the iPhone 3G running OS 3.0 for a while .. but -to me- it feels more complete to have my gmail and mobile me accounts pushed to my device as well as calendar updates, weather updates, gtalk, stock market quotes and news/blogs sitting in front of me side by side just a card flip away.. getting updated constantly on my Pre.

Here's to hoping that Apple will "surprise" me even more as a consumer and a developer.. Competition is good!!!
I have to agree with a prior post... No overheating or color issues after the firmware upgrade. I've got two of them! The only issue I'm having is no SSL switch for EAS accounts so I cannot setup mine yet -unlike my iPhone and some WinMo, Symbian and Palm phones I had in the past. I am not worried though. There will be another update soon that will take care of that. Otherwise this phone's OS is awesome ..and it can only get better. Some early estimates (Sprint Store manager data) have a total of 440,000 sold in just the first day. If that is true then... Not bad Palm!!

Of course I am still excited about the iPhone announcements tomorrow. These are good times for gadget freaks like myself.
Steve won't start the presentation.. but that doesn't mean that he won't end it with a surprise..... boom!!
What app do u use to Remote Control of your desktop?
YouTube doesn't connect... Also what's that Store option under Settings? There's nothing there yet.. Much more stable version and Monopoly works...
He is probably a VZW salesman or something... or even brain-dead!!! Wifi is still a must if you don't want to pay $60.00/month for international email to Verizon. Most of these people have never done business or traveled abroad apparently. They'll never understand that it has nothing to do with faster or slower or more available (in the US). To others, like myself, it's simple... No wifi.. no deal!!
I jus got off the phone with Nokia Customer Care and they said that there will be a software update soon!!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
