When some fellow "hacked" his Toyota Prius to enable all EV mode by installing a switch; then burned out his Hybrid battery
Toyota still replaced the battery.

But they made him take out the switch.

A torque monster diesel V6 coupled to one of Honda's legendary transmissions?

Should be good fun to watch.

My advise, buy the extended warranty.
"@ David... ever heard of 'Lemon Law'? Obviously you got a Lemon (no car company is perfect) but you didn't exercise your rights. The only idiot in that situation is you."

Actually TWO lemons, but other than that you are correct, sir. For darkening the doorway of a Honda dealer...again.

You see, I'm a former (once again and forever) Honda fan-boy from way back. My previous disenchantment came from being told that my new-ish 1990 Acura's consumption of CV joints (3 sets in 40K) was "normal."

Sort of like how all the current and future Honda transmission victims will be told it's "normal." (I personally can't wait for the diesel Odyssey, should be good sport) I would rather spend my dough rae me on a vehicle who's major components lifespan's are measured in years, rather than weeks.

Next time you have a few hundred thousand moments to spare, involve yourself in a "Lemon Law" buyback negotiation.

You'll find out exactly how friendly the self proclaimed world's most enviromentallly friendly car company really is.

"Two lemons in a row? You, my friend, lack intelligence to suggest such a thing would happen. ;)"

Yes, and the substory is that I traded two perfectly good, trouble-free Saturns in for the Odysseys.

Why, you ax?

Wife wanted a mini van and we follwed the recommendations of "experts" on some websites too large to mention.
"Ask just about anyone who owns a Honda--they'd be likely to buy another one even without the popcorn."

I wish someone would ask me about the TWO new 2006 Honda Odysseys I've owned recently.

The first was so poorly constructed I returned it and demanded another one--after FOUR days.

The second went through two quarts of oil, two power steering pumps, five trips to the shop and way too many gallons of gas before I gave up and sold it--with 5K on the odo.

No worries though, my new, new, new car is great, and I'm due to pay off my CC debt for the second Honda next month.

Total loss, about $8K.

That's a lot of free gas money. Unless, of course, you owned one of the Odysseys mentioned above.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
