I'm actually surprised how fast that Ubuntu (8.10 or 8.04 from what the loader looks like) boot up to be honest. o_o It would of been nice to see a new ext4 with Karmic.

But back on topic, Chrome OS definitely smokes any linux distro I've seen. How is that possible if its a live USB, which I assume wasn't tailored specific for the Vostro? Wouldn't it have to do the time consuming hardware check just like every other live distro?
As long as I can install the new stuff on my old 5800 I don't care, be it S60v6, Symbian^2, or whatever. >_>
I sure hope the next firmware adds EAP TTLS-PAP, so I can finally connect to my University's wi-fi...T_T
Very interesting. Will have to wait for reviews but if this thing has:
SHDC
Compatiblity with R4/M3 Simply
Optimized music playing capabilites (hopefully with 20+ hours, since with closed lids screen should be off)
and WPA support

...then I'm selling my Nano and DS to get this! :D
UGH! Why is there so much cool stuff coming out! I don't know whether to buy this for portable webbing, games and mp3 player, buy a "Zune Nano" to replace my iPod, go all out to get an Android phone and replace everything...ahhh! My wallet aches.
Uhm, you have seen the Touch series right? (HD, Diamond, Pro)
I don't get why a graphics update would hurt consumer base. Have the client run a simple test on the machine, and if it supports some of the good stuff, let them download a patch for high-res textures, models, and all that stuff. It's not like it effects gameplay right? It's like any other games where you have various detailed levels of stuff depending on the settings your PC can handle. If your computer sucks, too bad for you, just wait till you get a new one to look at eyecandy. :P
I was just about to point that out. I was a die-hard TA fan back in the day, and still consider it the best RTS I ever played. With its 3D units, and large unit limit (250 or 500?) There could be plenty of action on your screen, and with a computer just a few years after its released (in '97) it would be no problem to render.

*Sigh*...
iPod touch won't even compare to a DS Lite, much less whatever the DS2 turns out to be. Nintendo isn't dumb, and will easily sell the crap out of their new hardware, for the simple fact they are Nintendo. A real gaming company. :P

I am 19 and have a DS. Though I do have an iPod as well, for MUSIC.
Is the rumor true that in an alternate ending includes fighting a ninja-Ludwig defending his hut as a final boss!? :D
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
