Not to sound like an idiot, but if you have SERO and want the Pre, can't you just buy it outright and swap ESNs? I mean, it worked for my Touch Pro (which will be for sale as soon as the Pre hits eBay) when I wanted to ditch my 755p a few months back.
AT&T's 3G has been in and out (mostly out) all day today and kinda iffy the last few days here in Chicago.
Works fine on my touch pro, but I can't delete the old voice notes that I used to test it.

Maybe I'm just missing something.
Aww man, I hit the "buy" link and when I went to check out, it said "Palm Pre" with no price, in my cart. I confirmed the order with Sprint Customer Support and they said they the lucky few people who tried to buy the Treo Pro actually are going to be part of a test trial with the Pre in select markets.

My Pre should be here Monday. Lucky me!

If you read this last line first, laugh at everyone else who replied to my comment with "OMG I want a Pre, you're so lucky!!!"
Me me meeeeeeee!!!

Oh, and Merry Christmas.
I reFUZE to lose!!!
So correct me if I'm wrong, but the "HD connectivity" of the new Slingbox Pro HD is the same as an old Slingbox Pro with the HD Connect Cable, right? The new HD model just simplifies the process by getting rid of the HD Connect Cable. I guess I'm just trying to tell myself that there's no reason to upgrade.
I love to listen to the endless banter about how Palm is great and how it stinks and so on and so on.

However, why is there so much hate here for Palm devices? I mean, I am definitely a newbie to the smartphone world, having only carried a 700p with Verizon for 6 months, and now a 755p with Sprint for a few weeks, but I must say I am very impressed. Yes, Palm as a company is less than stellar. They make promises they don't keep, tend to sweep stuff under the rug, etc etc. Yes, my phone is not razor thin like an iPhone and it doesn't have some fancy interface like a HTC Touch, but you know what...it's a powerhouse. I can run my entire life from this thing, watch TV from my Slingbox, surf the web, and do countless other things for the $149 I paid for the 755p after rebates. And I didn't buy the phone because I "love" the company or their management style - I bought it because I liked it. That simple.

I don't want to say that I'm offended or hurt or anything like that, it's just that I think people can get a little annoying when all they do is bash Palm devices because they aren't the "cool" thing to have anymore, or because they are "yawnable." Forget the hype - it's all about what works for you.

Ok, that's my two cents. I don't mean to offend anyone - just reminding you that we Palm users are people too :-).
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
