If you are buying this phone, why would you go on contract with T-Mobile (Even More plan)?

The EM+ plan with 500 minutes only costs $30/month. Thus you can save another $240 over 24-month period.

T-Mobile EM+ plan over 2 years: Nokia N900 ($510) + voice plan/unlimited text ($40*24 for 500 minutes) + data ($10 or $25 x24) = $510 + $960 + $240/$600 = $1710/$2070

AT&T iPhone plan over 2 years: iPhone 3Gs 32GB ($300) + voice plan ($40*24) + unlimited text ($20*24) + data ($30*24) = $300 + $960 + $480 + $720 = $2460

That is a saving of $750 (best case scenario) or $390 over a 24-month period + no contract.

If the rumor iTablet is using the iPhone OS, Flash is out.

What the hell are you talking about here? You are quoting the EM+ 750 minutes/unlimited text/web family plan not individual.

The highest individual EM plan (with contract and subsidy) is $100/month ($60 unlimited minutes + $40 unlimited message/web for smartphone). If you are using a dumb phone, it costs $10 less per month. The highest individual EM+ plan (no contract and subsidy) is $80/month (unlimited minutes/message/web).

That's true. The iPhones might be cheap on contract but I would have to pay a lot more on AT&T comparing to T-Mobile. I am only paying $125 after discount/taxes/fees for 5 lines with 700 anytime minutes/unlimited M2M/NW ($59.99 + 3x$9.99), myFaves (free), unlimited messages ($10), and data on two lines (2x $9.99). There is no way I could get the same thing from AT&T.

It does have T-Mobile 3G. You can buy this phone unlocked and sign up for T-Mobile EM+ plans (no contract, no subsidy, and cheaper).

Once Amazon gets it out of pre-order mode, I am going to get one ($559.99 - $50 MIR).

EDGE is definitely not 3G. It's 2.75G only (220 kbps max). Evolved EDGE could have potential speed of up to 1 Mbps. However there are no commercial networks or phones that support Evolved EDGE.

But if you want mobile TV, you need 3G thus a 3G map.

It's a smartphone and Verizon (and the other 3) require data plans on all smartphones.
