"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
Someone commented that you can't assign a ringtone to a specific contact but that is not true. You simply go to the contact in the address book and hit options and it's under details. There was also a comment that you can't send a photo in an e-mail and again, this is not true. You hit options under images and hit send and then instead of a phone number, you write in an e-mail address. You must hold down the # key while you type the e-mail address, but that's pretty simple. Also, someone commented that you can't make a wallpaper out of a photo but this is not true either. As for accidentally hitting the camera button when the phone is closed, just go to settings/phone settings and turn on the automatic keyguard to lock the keys. It unlocks automatically when you open the phone.
I'll admit a lot of this stuff you have to figure out for yourself as the manual sucks. But that's a problem with the manual, not the phone.
My only negative comment is that you absolutely need to buy a mini-SD card (I bought a 1 gig card on ebay for 12 bucks), because there is only 10 MB of on board memory in the phone.
All in all, it's a pretty cool phone.
