$299 for this? no thanks. I got my Dell vostro 200 (E4500 OC 2.93GHZ 2GB 250GB DVDRW) + NV 8400GS for $200 after I sold the monitor. It is a full-fledged computer!

Well it sure is noisier than this little Ion thing.
You can say that again! The problem with WM is that it is practically not usable out of box until some hackers cook a better rom. Even with that, WM is neither reliable nor responsive.
Sprint's problems are: (1) their phone line really suck, especially for the standard feature phones and Blackberrys. I have never seen them getting the hottest phone. You may argue about the HTC PDAs but they target a small market only. Instinct was OK but not enough. Sprint should revamp its old-lady image and become more fashionable in phone selections. By the way, what's up with the latest phone naming? Names like "Rumor", "Rant" doesn't sound good at all, at least to me.

(2) Customer service. You know it when you are a customer of Sprint. Long wait time (except for retention) and inconsistent answers.

(3) Advertising. I feel that all carrier commercials suck. But the black and white Sprint CEO one really sucks a**. I liked the previous "sprint ahead" series much more.
800w is the CDMA version, right? Yes the exterior is different but internally they are essentially the same PDA with different radios.
This is just plain greedy. They should make it $199.
Actually I like clamshell form factor. Never need to lock/unlock the keyboard. And yes, GPS is more useful than Wifi.
Judging from the font size I can see it is 240x240. yawn.
This should be in "keepin' it real fake".
Try dialing 911 on this thing. A touch screen will make a lot of sense.
This comparison does not make any sense...I guess one can be faster than a jet for a brief while even on a bicycle...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
