I think even MSFT knows they could use a little OS diversity with the stinky pinky that is Win mob 6... Sidekick is more of a consumer oriented device anyway, it needs an OS more focused on the phone/social networking/multi-media aspects to keep the "iPhone generation" interested.
Interesting; for comparison the iPhone 3G costs $175 to build (2.5G was $226).

I think the guitar pick is for using the resistive (plastic-y-push) "touch" screen.
For the anemic speaker phone, just plug in some portable external speakers (using the headphone jack), and ta-da, you have a loud speaker phone (and the mic will still pick up your end of the conversation).

I recommend the LG MSP-100, they have pretty amazing stereo sound for something that folds up and looks just like a flip-phone (recharge via USB, too).
I've noticed that the iPod app is sometimes getting stuck in Coverflow mode after unlocking, a tad annoying. I love the Genius Playlist function, though. I'm excited to see if 2.1.1 will offer the polish and extra stability that is needed (and copy/paste, mms, and push notification service).
The 3 has great bones and is very fun to drive. While its high-class brother, the s40, is much faster and sharper, the 3 has a lot going for it (and about $10+k savings). I hope the next 3 improves on rigidity, mpg, and handling to keep its class leading place in the fun-to-drive/easy-to-own factor.

Chevy, Mitsu, Ford and a host of others are hot on Mazda's zoom-zoom heels with new levels of sportiness and quality in the small car category (finally). Thank god for competition.
So beautifully classic!
Maybe it'll come over as an Acura (like a 1-Series fighter)
Yeah, and someone should sell "function tattoos" for these blank buttons! I suggest 'ejection seat>on"
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
