Hey my son broke his tooth the other day and it cost $299 to fix it. Had this not happened I could've perhaps bought one of these nifty boxes!
How about cover flow for contacts? I would love to be able to scroll through pictures of contacts and tap the desired person to call or email them. The best way to implement this would be flipping to landscape view while in the phone app, then the people you have in your contacts with pictures (mostly just family and friends) would then appear just like album coverflow.

This would really require the SDK but Apple probably won't be letting anyone mess with the phone app itself!
Dice iPod / BMW integration for audio and track/playlist controls as well as power/charging. ($149)

Scosche bluetooth headset/speakerphone from Wal-mart ($29).

Sound quality is stellar. Songname, artist, album display on BMW dash unit and there are selection modes for track, playlist, artist selection by using the "disc number" and track forward/back buttons on the head unit. All I need now is a mounting bracket.
What really cracks me up is that I just read this article and commented from my iPhone! I love it (the iPhone not the article).
Hah ha ha!

I just made five custom ringtones out of Beatles songs... ticking off both Apple, Inc. AND Apple Corps.
Works great on EDGE, since it is primarily text.

I've been using this app for about a week now - very solid. The real purpose of it is to not only have a cool way to bookmark iPhone apps but to also easily discover NEW apps. Modmyiphone keeps up with all the new releases and gives you a quick description and user ratings. You can search by category or release date and then just click 'add' to put it in your customized list. This is the best way I've seen to actually find the apps while actually using your iPhone.

Sure you can just bookmark these in the conventional way in Safari (after spending time searching for them) but rather than manage tons of folders of bookmarks I prefer to just keep the special iphone 'apps' in the app.modmyiphone list because they are easier to access and manage. I still use Safari's bookmarks for regular sites.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
