More likely he'll be remembered for coming on after the RAZR was already baked, and then driving an iconic American company into the ground. Thanks Ed.

What do you mean "albeit assisted" GPS? This has a fully functional GPS chip, and (much like the BlackBerry 8800) I doubt this will be A-GPS. A Moto V3m on Sprint is a good example of a phone using A-GPS. Do some homework on the technology.
This would be just the third GSM handset with integrated GPS offered by a U.S. carrier:

But I'm still scratching my head over AT&T with this. Why would they want to cannibalize iPhone sales with this? Or more specifically, those juicy iPhone data plans...
I have an N95 - and you're right, I forgot about the Maps upgrade. But I can't imagine many people really take the time to use the map uploader. What if I'm on a business trip to NYC and didn't upload the right region?
Jonathan - Nokia doesn't have a subscription navigation app. You'd be paying TeleNav, Telmap or some other turn-by-turn provider. Plus $ for the data plan that you would need. Yes, GPS positioning is free, but all those maps and routing eat up the KB fast...
Well it certainly won't be T-Mobile. Who else other than AT&T would possibly carry this? And it would be only the third GSM handset with GPS offered by a U.S. carrier:

But who's powering the Vodafone Navigator service? This blog has the deets:

This was strictly a "warm and fuzzy" Wall Street release. Didn't help much - SiRF is down 10% in extended trading tonight:

Don't you mean "Blackberry with a hint of WiFi"? We've had the 8800 with GPS for quite some time...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
