Yeah this makes me very hesitant to buy a new car with an XM radio built-in before they have resolved this issue. Sorry Acura!
Yes, simplicity is syncing your calendar through your music player to your phone. It would be much more complicated if you synced your calendar directly to your phone.

Why not sync your calendar through iMovie and iSight too, while we're at it?
Wow, watching YouTube videos over a 56-100kbps GPRS data connection. Awesome.
"you just don't get it do you.
apple is all about design and marketing.
they sell cool to the uncool,
they sell sexy to the ugly.

those of us like me who are already sexy and cool and are immune to i.clone marketing can only watch on and smirk ;)"

I just love to see people camp out on the sidewalk to buy a phone with ancient technology. Priceless.
I know the Apple fanboys are going to jump on me for this, but I really don't understand all the excitement about being able to pick up a PDA phone with EDGE (2g) networking. I mean seriously - I have a PDA phone now with Edge, and it is slooooow. Of course, my phone is 3 years old. What's Apple's excuse?
"Who the hell is HTC?"

Uh, only the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Unlike Apple, which is late to the game and playing catch-up.

"if you don't know a lot about the topic in question, don't act condescendingly to a programmer."

So guess what Pedro - you're not the only programmer who reads Engadget. In fact, I highly doubt you're a programmer. Just mentioning winsock is not enough to convince anyone.

You're also wrong. You can't just add yourself to a firewall's white list. Most host-based firewalls (Windows Firewall, Norton, etc.) prevent applications from adding themselves without prompting the user. Otherwise those products would be completely pointless.

Nice try though.
Pedro:

Read the full article. The difference is that the Trojan can establish an outbound connection without trigging a host-based firewall alert. Is this the end of the world? No. But it is a security vulnerability....
Also, I don't think the iPhone's GSM network would be of much use on a remote Pacific island. I can't even get a signal in my basement. But if the Losties did get a signal, imagine the roaming charges!
It amazes me how they can screw up a good thing (assuming this rumor is correct). They plan a Google phone with Google map integration, but no GPS.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I just switched to Sprint from Verizon about three months ago for the Pre. Then I went for the Hero about a week ago. Now, I miss my hardware keyboard and am thinking about switching to the Moment. I am still able to switch back to Verizon if I want and get the Droid when it arrives. Should I just trade up to the Moment when it comes out, see if I like it, and if not switch to the Droid? Or something else entirely? Help!"
