#1 : If you purchased an IMac in October, you could get a Leopard Up-To-Date install disk. After they sent those out, they had a software update for the iMac. If you did NOT install that update then the Leopard update worked fine.

If you did install that update, then when you installed Leopard you were welcomed with a password dialog box that would not go away and you could not use your machine. The workaround was to reboot the Leopard install and do an "Archive & Install". Everything worked fine that way but it took an extra hour.

So this is not a Tiger update for those running Leopard, it is a Tiger update for those planning on upgrading to Leopard. I think this issue was only for the Up To Date, not the retail version.
"Which is different than ssh or vnc + dyndns how?"

I don't know that person, but this sounds pretty cool to an average computer user like me.
Luigi -- The default is fullscreen but in Options you can set it to play in a window.
I bet it is 18 months worth of free data service. 18 * $20 = $360. That would be feasable.
I wonder what "Plan B" was? Start from scratch?
Today, when Cingular subsidizes a phone and makes you sign a two year contract then you cannot do it again. We have three lines on our plan, and i can get one price break, then I would have to pay full price if I want to upgrade another phone.

From what I can tell, if you buy an iPhone you must agree to a two year contract, but the price would also apply to existing customers. So if you had 1 year remaining, you could get the price as long as you bumped the one year to two years. You could also buy multiple iPhones at that same price as long as you agreed to a two year contract.

So...following that logic... if the phone were unlocked and someone wanted to try and use it with another carrier, i could buy three and agree to two years (not a problem.. I don't plan on leaving Cingular). i plan on keeping one for myself, but don't know if my wife and mother in law want them. i could just sell the other two and they could use their old phones.

Seems to me like the biggest change is that Apple does not want Cingular dictating when people can buy new iPhones. if they release new ones every 6 months they want people to be able to buy them. The only downside would be extending your contract another 6 months. Whereas today, they sort of steer you to only upgrade every two years.
How do you dial a number?

"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
