I couldn't care less.

I've never liked UT, even the first few. no big loss.
very sexy
that thing looks silly to me.
it's reverse-psychology. engadget want's us all to buy it... so they say it's lame? It's like we're all teenagers and engadget is our out-of-touch parent.

...or maybe thomas ricker just has too much of a belly for this to make any sense to him. ;P
those models are horrendous.
I'd take turbos over nos any day of the week.

...your analogy is actually way more accurate than you realize:

nos might give you killer performance for a few seconds, until you A. run out, or B. blow up your engine.

nice turbos can give you 50K - 150K miles of use, can make very good power, and can be pushed harder and harder to make unbelievable power with the proper bottom end. (maybe analogous to the App Store?)

don't get me wrong, the Instinct looks nice for people who really want to stick with Sprint (and it's nice that sprint FINALLY got a phone that appears to be from this decade.) ...but iPhone Killer? not a chance.

by the way, my roommate has the HTC Touch. It's a turd. the OG iPhone kills the HTC Touch in just about every way (including rendering a web page, even over EDGE)
@ryan - i know what you're saying.

Betting $100,000,000 on a iphone-me-too, no matter how nice it is, seems like a very bad idea.

if THIS is Sprint's sort of "last chance" card they're playing, it's going to do more damage than anything.

$100 million in advertising a phone that's moderately better specced than the last generation iPhone? sounds like suicide to me.

(And still believing that feature-lists sell phones, and that the UI can be an after thought... can you say "missing the point"? i dont care how many seconds faster your webpage loads compared to the old iPhone, if the browser is crappy, what does it matter?)
Boo-fucking-hoo about the demos.

quit complaining, engadget! Just report the shit, Please!
@Eric M.

don't you mean "The OC Disorder"?
damnit.

clak gives everyone who ever even thought about owning an Apple product a bad name.

Why don't you just rename yourself to Artie MacStrawman?

waitasec... maybe he's like one of those people who PRETEND to be members of a group only to make members of that group look ridiculous...
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
