@Jack : You're a douche bag. I've had 4 to 5 bars with Sprint in the OC pretty much everywhere I go and it's been that way since 1999... And I drive all over the OC for my work, so obviously you're full of shit and among the ones that think bashing Sprint for no valid reason is cool.
Cue in Dire Straits... "I want my... MKV"
Dolby TrueHD in 2 channels only ? Good luck with that...
Wow. Is that guy for real ? Damn. talk about being full of himself...
I don't get it. Where are all the elitist fanboys that kept telling us Blu-Ray is the shit, so it's worth that much more than HD DVD ? Where are all the "you get what you pay for" comments ?

$700 MSRP for THIS ? Excuse me while I'm rolling on the floor laughing. I hope all of you Blu-Ray and BDA are happy now, this is exactly what you fought for. HDM is not going anywhere but down with ridiculous prices like that.
But wait, how can you say such sacrilege ? Isn't Blu-Ray so much superior to HD DVD ? Isn't BD-J the end-all be-all of programming languages ? Oh the humanity. [sarcasm off]
Whatever makes you feel better Ben. Whatever. At $25+tax a pop on a good day for a catalog HD title and prices of players kept artificially high by the japanese conglomerates, if believing that makes you hope, then why not. The fact is that with no competition from your hated format anymore, there's absolutely no incentive for studios and the japanese manufacturers to lower their prices on what they want you to pay a premium for for as long as they can muster.

All you BR fanboys got exactly what you wished for, keep on dreaming.
Did they charge you extra for the ability to strip BD+ ? If you already had bought the HD option, no. So what are you complaining about ?

Crackers of that level must not come cheap, otherwise BD+ and AACS 4th gen keys would have been cracked on Doom9 long ago.

The ones making out like bandits are Fox, who saw that one coming, and sold it to Macrovision for a hefty amount. They can both rot in hell as far as I'm concerned, but this shows how easily taken even a corporation like Macrovision can be. A well orchestrated smear campaign in the media works wonders on the public and the CEOs, and this might explain why they came out and said it would take at least 10 years to break BD+, among other things...
Just posting to see if I get a confirmation email from Engadget on my Blackberry. No email on it since about 12 pm...
@DrXym : Is that what the $200 extra cost of a BR standalone is for ? The extra 768 MB of memory ?

Damn, memory is not cheap these days, I hope we're getting our dollars worth in interactive features. And of course, those will be so much cooler now that they're Blu instead of red... Yeah... Rrrrrrriggght.
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I own an iPhone 3G and I'm looking for a decent speaker / alarm clock for it. I am going to listen music in a mid-sized room, so I want nice quality speakers with solid bass. I also want to use it as an alarm clock, so it would be great if there is such a feature. The price can be low-mid to mid-high range. I was looking at the Klipsch iGroove SXT; it's powerful, slick and the reviews are good, but it doesn't have an alarm clock feature. It's no deal breaker if I can set it up from the iPhone, but I'm not sure. Thanks!"
