This list is absolutely laughable. In addition to everything mentioned: How do you have the Ram and Silverado...but no F150? Seriously? Maybe Ram and F150 (Silverado [over]due for a redesign) but to have the former is just rediculous. Sadly some people will be duped into believing this list.....
Matthew...You really demonstrate your ignorance. I was going to leave your post alone after your overgeneralization about bankruptcy...but then your crap about American cars being a joke? Really?

When was the last time a US carmaker made an innovative product? --Ford Fusion Hybrid (MT COTY) to name one. Have you seen the innovative way that car helps you to drive eco-friendly?

They've tried to undercut the Europeans and Japanese and went bankrupt anyway. --They who? There are THREE domestic automakers. TWO went bankrupt. One did not.

Yes they make marginally cheaper cars(thanks to government subsidies robbed right out of taxpayer's pockets), but they're not as refined as the competition. --You must not read about how most domestics are on par with--and in some cases better--than foreigns. Particularly Ford with better reliability than Honda and Toyota.

Durability? Since the union takeovers, US cars have been a joke for durability and quality. They still are really. --Again, you show your ignorance. The Focus is a very reliable car as is the Fusion. Mustang's very impressive this year, too, with many magazines saying it's the best one yet. Particularly with the new 3.7L (which is LONG overdue). I will agree with your point that unions are certainly NOT helping automakers.

You say that details matter. Are those only the details that you think support your point? The only domestic that still makes sub-par cars on a consitent basis is Chrysler...and it shows in their sales. They have a couple good cars out there, but overall they are lacking. The other two...particularly Ford (under the direction of Mullaly)...have really stepped up their game.

With all the trouble Toyota's been having lately, it seems that they've tried too hard to be like the Detroit Big 3.

The details matter.
What really makes me think SD is those Dually flares. They look very SD to me. I love how they've gone all GM and are now using plastic (seriously?!) to fill the gap between the grill/headlights and the front bumper.

Thank GOD they finally got rid of those AWEFUL headlights with the bulbous covers and put something decent on it. With this new front-end design it doesn't look like some moron with his eyes crossed (look at a Dodge in the NASCAR Camping World Series and tell me you don't get that impression).

Still, the king of trucks has nothing to fear from this competitor. The 2011 redesign and new diesel motor will be more than capable of holding its own.

Good job, but not good enough.
"FlexPay" has nothing to do with buying equipment. It is an alternative to having to put a deposit down if you're credit challenged or don't want to have a credit check.
Being able to spread payments out over four payments is called "EIP" or equipment installment plan.
Can Toyota be any less original? Or am I the only one that sees Mitsubishi Lancer here? Angry eyes, anyone?
"...only makes sense off-road..."

Perhaps you didn't watch the video where they said this truck was more than capable on-highway, too. In fact, I think they said it drove like a normal F-150 on the highway. So, I guess that would make sense for on-road driving. Unlike, say, I rock crawler Jeep. Which this is not.
They didn't show it but did mention it: They took this over terrain with the SVT pilot that would have 'destroyed' any other truck.
Awe dammit...now I gotta go get clean underwear....
Hasn't the Fusion already been graced with the SVT brush? http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2008/112_0809_ford_fusion_gt/index.html
Looks like it might be delayed a bit, but there you have it. Let's have it!!!
Amen. This is one of Ford's most excellently executed new launches...and it hasn't even launched yet! Considering that the Border Patrol wants some now, it just ups the ante. I'd sure hate to be trying to cross the border and see this thing come flying over a dune, headed straight for me! I'd know my goose was cooked.... Makes me want to get a job with the Border Patrol just to drive one! It'd be one hell of a company vehicle!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
