Hey, I'm thinking about buying a new 21.5" iMac but I'm really thirsting for a Core i5 (or i7) cpu.

Is there any way Apple would put one of those processors in my iMac?

Or is there a way someone handy with computers could switch in the CPU? I used to build computers when I was a teenager but I haven't done that in a long time now, although I figure if it meant having a Core i7 I could manage it.

Any Tips?

Thanks,
Mike
That keyboard looks a lot nicer than the Droid's keyboard!
Looks like I have my new phone in sight...
soo, what happens if you're standing 5 feet infront and you get hit by two or three (or more). Does that mean you die?
Thanks a lot to Engadget and their sponsors for having this amazing giveaway contest!

Here's my entry! Good luck everyone.
Is there mac support?

Please be!
Wayy too expensive!

And I'm a student and I would get it if it cost less... and if there was a way to comment on pages, like write little notes.
That's why I think my next tech buy will be a Tablet PC, and hopefully it'll have some sort of e-book reader on it to make it all nicey-nice
A great syncing app is Syncplicity!
www.syncplicity.com
Check it out!
Definitely Microsoft's OneNote suite and a tablet pc.
Use syncplicity or one of the hundred other computer syncing utilities on the internet to keep your computers synced.

Alternatively, you can use Evernote, but i feel for large-scale notes, OneNote would do the job better.
Evernote is still a pretty slick app for remembering things, I would recommend checking it out regardless!
This is the first recession antidote contest I've entered in. I've waited until now because I wanted to have the best prize, and also the best solution to our depression/recession!

Ok, so here it is:
You (engadget) award me (lowly college student and loyal engadget reader) the prize (super-sweet paradigm cinema 70 CT 5.1 speakers that will blow the socks off the idiots next door whole play death metal at 3am in the morning!)
I (said college student) will go to the college mailroom and be awestruck at winning such an amazing prize. But wait, the speakers are so big and heavy, I'll need to contract out some fellow students to help me bring it all the way back to my dorm. Well, I get the closet four kids to help me and pay them $10/hour. Seeing as it would take at most ten minutes to get them into my room, i COULD just hand them $1 and 66 (repeating) cents for their 1/6th hour work, but, being the magnanimous winner of such a sweet speaker set, I would give them all $20! and this bring $80 into the global economy. They are also college students, so this $80 could buy a ba-jillion cases of ramen noodles! They'd actually probably shower me with glory and alms for allowing them to eat FOREVER in this depressed economy of ours. Or, they'd buy the $10 lunches at the cafeteria and run through it in less than a day. either way, that $80 dollars would somehow find itself in a bank. And we know how banks work, they loan out all of the money that they don't need to keep for FDIC security! So my $80 would really turn into like $400! Banks are sweet! and then that $400 of mine would be put in the ATM for all my fellow college students to use when they withdrew money from the bank. They'd THINK they'd be getting their own money, and they would technically, but it would also be mine, and thus anything they'd buy would be courtesy of me!
Now, I'm humble, so I won't take credit for that $400 being put in a bank again and being loaned out again and making even MORE money, but i could!
Anyhow, my little winning of this prize has totally affected the campus economy! People are buying food and clothes left and right, because of meeee!

And this is all because I won the prize! Now make it happen! ;)

*Disclaimer*
This is all contingent on banks actually not sucking. So, maybe all this goodness wouldn't happen, ya know? But, still, the thought was there, and that's all that counts!
(oh, and me having those sweet speakers in my room! Please!!)
I figured out my issue - I hadn't installed the latest security update!

All fixed now!
Let the hive mind of Engadget get that for you.
"I'm in the market for a new phone and money isn't a limitation. I'm also not partial to any particular US carrier, but here are some of the features I'd like to have: WiFi, GPS, good coverage in lots of places, push Gmail (a must!), physical keyboard (a must!), a touchscreen, decent battery life and a relatively slim body. And please, nothing that has a fruit logo on it. No offense to the fruit fans, though. Thanks!"
